Team Challengers has accomplished yet another feat by securing Third place in Boeing - IIT National Aeromodelling Competition 2021. Boeing - IIT National Aeromodelling Competition is an event sponsored by Boeing, in collaboration with IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, and IIT Madras. The competition is conducted with the vision to provide a unified national platform for students interested in aerospace and related engineering disciplines - to demonstrate their aero-modeling expertise. The team consisting of Shrinidhi I S and Pratham KB from fourth year Mechanical Engineering; Pranav Sathish and Raynol Menezes from fourth year Electronics & Communication Engineering; Aheesh Rao from second year Mechanical Engineering and Nehal Hosalikar from second year Information Science & Engineering achieved this feat.
The team received a problem statement to design, fabricate, and demonstrate a fixed-wing model unpowered glider and a launcher with given constraints that can achieve maximum endurance/ flight time. The team built the glider, demonstrated its performance, and submitted a detailed report for the same.
Team Challengers is a unique technical hub that provides massive opportunities in various fields like Aero-modeling, Aerial, and Ground Robotics thus helping students boost their technical skills.
