Principal and faculty of Malnad College of Engineering, Hassan Visit Sahyadri

Dr. C V Venkatesh, Principal; Prof. Geetha Kiran, Professor and HOD of Computer Science & Engineering; Dr. Srinath, Professor and Dr. Raju, Assistant Professor from Malnad College of Engineering visited the campus on 12th Nov’2021. The team visited the Hands-on Experience Lab, Launchpads, In-house Industries, NAIN Centre and the Centers of Excellence. Mr. Johnson Tellis, Director, SHINE Foundation introduced the Community-Centric Education Model which nurtures Entrepreneurial Mindset in the Young Minds to build solutions that can impact the community. Dr. Rajesha S, Principal and Dr. Manjappa Sarathi, Director, R&D and Consultancy also interacted with the team and motivated them to initiate the community-centric education model and to build products for community development.

Campus Recruitment Drive - Byju's

byjus Byju's conducted virtual Campus Recruitment Drive for the Engineering students of the 2022 outgoing batch. Hiring is for the role of Business Development Trainee (BDT) / Business Development Associate (BDA) and the Salary offered is INR 10 LPA.
Results are awaited.

Talk on Leadership & Entrepreneurship for MBAs

Dr. G M Lingaraju, Professor, Dept. of Information Science & Engineering facilitated a Talk on ‘Leadership & Entrepreneurship’ for MBA final year students on 12th Nov’2021. He spoke about creating a common platform for Entrepreneurs and Leaders, where irrespective of the curriculum; a student would be motivated to come up with innovative ideas. The platform would boost the career prospects of MBA students to become Business Analysts. They would brainstorm the ideas to solve the problems that are discussed through the platform.

The morning session by Team Flotanomers helped students to build the planes for the final events. In the afternoon session, the students designed their line follower chassis and later were taken to dreamworks makerspace for the cutting of the chassis in the laser cutting machine.

Faculty Members Visit Father Muller Simulation and Skill Centre

Simulation Dr. G M Lingaraju, Professor, Dept. of Information Science & Engineering; Dr. Navin N Bappalige, Associate Professor, Dept. of Physics; Dr. Shreyas Rao, Associate Professor, Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering and Prof. Sharathchandra N R, Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering visited Father Muller Simulation and Skill Centre on 11th Nov’2021. The purpose of the visit was to explore the possibility of potential collaboration in multidisciplinary research and product development. They interacted with Dr. Lulu Sherif Mahmood, Head of Healthcare Simulation Education at Father Muller. She showed various facilities in the centre related to medical simulators available for training the students, researchers and nurses at the hospital.
Prior to visiting the simulation and skill centre, the team interacted with Dr. B Sanjeev Rai, Chief of Research at Father Muller hospital and deliberated on two proposals for research collaboration.

CSE Professor Dr. Mustafa Basthikodi invited as Keynote Speaker for International Conference at Bengaluru

Dr. Mustafa Basthikodi, Professor in the Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering was invited as one of the keynote speakers for the Two-Day 4th International Conference on “Sustainable Growth through Nano-science and Artificial Intelligence for Safeguard of Environment (SGNASE-2021)” organized by K.L.E. Society’s S. Nijalingappa College, Bengaluru. The conference focused on the trending areas of research in Nano-science & Technology and its advancements in the trans-disciplinary areas such as Nano-electronics, Nano biotechnology, Nano robots, Material science and Diagnostic devices.
Dr. Mustafa spoke on “Artificial Intelligence Big Time in Health Care and Societal Impact”. Beginning with the expression that ‘Humans are hooked and machines are learning’ and AI is the new electricity to the digital business, he spoke on various aspects of AI and Artificial Neural Networks covering applications and opportunities in health care and other business domains and its societal impacts
