Chairman interacts with the Parents of new entrants to the Engineering program – 3rd Batch

Chairman Mr. Manjunath Bhandary interacted with the Parents of 3rd batch of new entrants to Engineering program on 13th Nov’2021, Saturday. At first, he explained the present scenario of Engineering in the country. He informed that only 15% of engineering graduates are eligible for jobs. He re-iterated that parents have to first accept the course and the college if their wards have to excel in their studies and get placed well. He introduced the various activities and initiatives undertaken by the institution. He explained engineering in a nutshell and requested the parents to support the college in its activities. He asked the parents to express their expectations from the college and also explained what the college is expecting from the parents and their ward. He urged the parents to support their students and encourage their children to participate in all the Value-added programmes, internships and industrial exposure activities. Mr. Bhandary also gave heads up on the Social Innovation Programme and its benefits to the students. He presented the achievements of Sahyadri, the mentor-mentee system, Rankings and Centres of Excellence. Post this, Dr. Rajesha S, Principal addressed the parents regarding various academic activities.

Day 6 (13th Nov’2021)

Day 6 of the Bridge Course introduced the students to the concept of Design thinking by the Social Innovation Program (SIP) Team. They underwent an activity-based approach to understand the 5 stages of design thinking. During the session, they designed and built a wallet and presented it to the audience.
