Honeywell CoE for Women Empowerment Inaugurated at Sahyadri by ICT Academy

Recognizing India’s need for a future ready workforce, Honeywell Centre of Excellence for Youth Empowerment/Women Empowerment was inaugurated in Sahyadri by ICT Academy. The centre aims to empower the students of the institution with digital skills such as Big Data Analytics, AI, ML, RPA etc. The Centre of Excellence will train 100 students on advanced technologies; provide global certification from tech giants, facilitating placements for certified students.
The globally recognized certification program on new tech-tools will benefit engineering, arts and science colleges in tier 1 & 2 cities of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra, and budding bright students from rural and marginalized sections of the society.

Dedicated centres for students demonstrate ICT Academy’s commitment towards women & youth empowerment, with the objective of realizing a diverse and inclusive workforce in the country.
The training program comprises of 100 hours of learning and opportunities for the students to participate in the hackathons, and youth empowerment summit. Apart from the students, four faculty members will be trained on the advanced technology.
Mr. Ashish Gaikwad, President Honeywell India said, “Honeywell being a technology leader is deeply committed to educating the younger generation with the right knowledge specially in STEM Programs. It is our desire that these technology programs must be affordable and accessible to all sections of the society, all get access to high quality education to pursue better career and build a better life. From this point of view, this engagement with ICT Academy in upskilling 5,000 young lives is a significant step for us.”
Speaking about this initiative, Mr. Suresh Babu L, Head – Government and Corporate Initiatives said, “Technology has become part of every business. As technologies evolve, skilling will be key to employment and economic development. At ICT Academy, we continuously strive to develop a sustainable skill ecosystem right from the bottom of the pyramid by collaborating with corporates, government, and academia. This program is a step forward to serve society and will enable needy students to get trained in technologies required in the fourth industrial revolution.”

Mr. Manjunath Bhandary, Chairman; Dr. Manjappa Sarathi, Director-R&D and Consultancy, and Dr. Rajesha S, Principal expressed their gratitude to Honeywell and ICT Academy for setting up the Centre of Excellence for “Women Empowerment”, which is a CSR Initiative of Honeywell. This Centre of Excellence will help the students to learn the UIPathCertified RPA Associate, which is the need of the hour skill in the industry. Through this Centre of Excellence hundred underprivileged students in the institution learn the technology and get the global certification Program at Zero cost. They are also supported with the placement assistance at the end of the program.

Dr. Nalini Rebello, Professor &Dean Academics; Dr. Shantharaj, Professor & Dean Examinations; Dr. Mustafa Basthikodi, Professor, Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering; Dr. Ravichandra K. R, Professor & Head, Dept. of Mechanical Engineering; Dr. Pushpalatha K, Associate Professor & Head, Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering; Ms. Shreelatha U A, Academic Administrative Officer, faculty fraternity along with the registered students for the program were present during the occasion.

Placement and Training - Recruited by Hexaware Technologies

CySecK Rithesh Rai and T J Akesh from the Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering have been recruited by Hexaware Technologies in the recently held Virtual campus recruitment process. They are selected for the position of Graduate Engineer Trainee. The salary package offered is between INR 3.5 - 5 Lakhs per Annum.

Bridge Course 2021 for Engineering Aspirants – Batch 2

Day 7 of the Bridge Course was conducted for the students as a progressive session to build the Line Follower Bot. The Team of DTi Labz helped the students to complete their Bots using Dream Kit. Overall the day was indulged in giving an amazing exposure to the students.

Project Proposal Shortlisted by CySecK- Research Development Programme

CySecK A Project Proposal titled - “Design and Development of model for Deep fake video detection by eye blinking rate detection using CNN & RNN” submitted by Dr. Ananth Pabhu G, Professor, Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering has been Shortlisted by CySecK under the scheme Research Development Programme. The shortlisted project will undergo pre-project phase. During Pre-Project phase, mentoring will be provided by CysecK. Prof. Harisha, Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering has been selected by Sahyadri Core Committee to take up this project as a Co-Principal Investigator.
This Problem statement has been proposed based on the suggestion received by Police Department. This project is mentored by Dr. Manjappa Sarathi, Director-R&D and Consultancy.
About Cyseck: Cyseck, the Centre of Excellence in Cybersecurity was formed in 2017 by Government of Karnataka, as part of the Technology Innovation Strategy, to promote the cyber-safe and conducive environment for industry collaboration, address the skill gaps, build awareness and facilitate innovation in the emerging technology field of Cybersecurity. CySecK is housed at the Indian Institute of Science, with IISc as the technical anchor and KSCST (Karnataka State Council for Science and Technology) as the implementation agency.
