Mr. Sumanth Prabhu from the Dept. of Information Science & Engineering and Ms. Sreenidhi from the Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering were recruited for the position of Trainee Software Engineer (Level 2 ) by Juego Studio in the recently held Virtual campus recruitment drive for the 2022 outgoing batch.

Commemoration of Gandhi Jayanthi and Lal Bahadur Shastriji's Birth Anniversary at Sahyadri and Swacch Bharath Abhiyan at Someshwara Beach

Gandhi Jayanthi and Lal Bahadur Shastriji's Birth Anniversary was commemorated by the faculty and students at Sahyadri Campus as they pay their respects to the great leaders of the nation. Principal Dr. Rajesha S, encouraged the students to follow the ideals of Gandhiji and Shastriji and work towards the growth of the nation. The program was followed by a Swacchata Abhiyan organized by Sahyadri NSS Unit in association with Navodaya Friends Club, Ullalbail at Someshwara beach. The NSS volunteers participated enthusiastically in the Shramadhan and cleaned the beach. The faculty members also joined hands in this noble cause to keep the environment clean.

Sahyadri Hosts "Brand Mangaluru” Friendship Cricket Tournament 2021

On account of Gandhi Jayanthi, Press Club of Mangaluru in association with Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management organized "Brand Mangaluru” Friendship Cricket Tournament 2021 at Sahyadri Cricket Ground. The event was participated by Vice Chancellor Team, Deputy Commissioner Cricket Team, Superintendent of Police Cricket Team, Media City, Media Rural Cricket Team and Sahyadri Cricket Team.
The event saw the presence of Mangaluru District Commissioner Dr. K V Rajedra; Mr. Manjunath Bhandary, Chairman-Bhandary Foundation; Prof. P S Yadapadithaya, Vice Chancellor, Mangalore University; Superintendent of Police, Dakshina Kannada; and Mr. Srinivas Nayak, President of Working Journalist Union, Mangaluru during the inaugural and closing ceremony of the tournament. Vice Chancellor Team, Mangaluru emerged as the Winner and Media Rural Cricket Team were the Runners-Up.

Bridge Course 2021 for Engineering Aspirants

Day Five (1st Oct, 2021)

Day 5 of the Bridge Course began with a progressive session on Onshape. The students were taught the basic concepts of the software and they came up with unique designs for the chassis of an RC bot. Thus, the session mainly focused on building the chassis, with each team designing and coming up with its acrylic cuttings in the end. This chassis building by the respective teams is the first step in developing the ultimate RC bots for the mega event which is held on the last day of the Bridge Course.
Day Six (2nd Oct, 2021)

Day 6 of the Bridge Course focused on sessions that involved application with tools like Canva and Filmora, facilitated by Ms. Ramya and Mr. Shobith Mallya. Canva was introduced to the students for creating wonderful graphics like posters, presentations, and short animations. The students indulged in the creation of the graphics. Also, Filmora software was taught to the students mainly used for creating and editing videos. Overall, the day was indulged in giving an amazing exposure to the students in the field of media.

Students selected for Internship at CAPE: Creative Arts For Processing Emotions ® through TCE Industry Connect Program

Mohammed Ishran Ali from 1st year Electronics & Communication Engineering and Lata Prakash Jain from 1st year MBA have been selected for the internship at CAPE: Creative Arts For Processing Emotions ® for the role of Digital Marketing and Marketing & Social Media Management respectively.
CAPE: Creative Arts for Processing Emotions, is an organization working on integrating neuroscience with the creative art. It is one of the startup partners of Technical Career Education Private Limited.

Placement and Training: Campus Recruitment Drive - Tech Mahindra

Tech Mahindra conducted the first round of Virtual Campus Recruitment Drive for the Engineering students from 2022 outgoing batch as a part of their selection process. The recruitment was open to the students from Computer Science & Engineering, Information Science & Engineering and Electronics & Communication Engineering.

Dr. Prabhu Addresses CIO's on Swachh Devices

Dr. Ananth Prabhu G, Professor in the Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering and Principal Investigator of the Digital Forensics and Cyber Security CoE at Sahyadri was invited by the CIO Klub to address the CIO's on Swachh Devices, on Gandhi Jayanthi.
A total of 75 CIO's across the nation participated in this 2-hour interaction. Dr. Prabhu spoke about digital device hygiene and the best practices to browse the internet responsibly. The webinar consisted of the following topics:
• Is your data really safe?
• How does social media track you?
• Common Cyber Crimes on Social Media
• Tips to Stay Safe and Secure
• Swachh Devices- Digital Device Hygiene
• Important Cyber Laws
• Encryption
• Data Protection
Mr. Rajeev Mittal delivered the inaugural address and Dr. Yogesh Zope delivered the vote of thanks.
