Students Win Cash Prize in BUILD–IT, a Civil Engineering Hackathon hosted by CMRIT, Bengaluru

Sachindra Shetty, Shafwan K and Aboobaker Ayan from Seventh Semester Civil Engineering along with Joyston James D’Costa from Seventh Semester Mechanical Engineering participated in the Build–IT, a Civil Engineering Hackathon that took place during May 31st to September 25th, 2021, hosted by CMRIT, Bengaluru and sponsored by Saint – Gobain in association with Institution’s Innovative Council. Over 30 + teams in the National level have participated in the Hackathon. Team ‘Concept Squad,’ of Sahyadri was one among the finalists. The students have bagged an individual cash prize of INR 2,500 in this event.

Bridge Course 2021 for Engineering Aspirants

Day Seven of the Bridge Course began with a session by DTi Labz who came together with the students in building an RC Bot with the help of Dream Kit. Further, the afternoon session was taken up by the team of Flotanomers who helped the students learn different wing configurations and calculations with respect to the Wing dimensions. The students were then assigned with the task to calculate all the dimensions of the wing. In the end, each team then built a wing using foam and learnt the calculations involved in the wing.

CSE Dept. organizes Interactive sessions for Third and Second Year students

On October 5th, 2021, Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering organized Interactive sessions for Third year and Second Year AI-ML and Data Science students. Dr. Pusphalatha K, Head of Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering, introduced the Resource persons to the students. Dr. Ananth Prabhu G, Professor, Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering delivered interactive talk on "Essence of Computer Science Engineering'' for Third year Computer Science Engineering students. The Key Topics covered in the session were:
• Quiz
• Domains in Computer Engineering
• Career Progression
• In demand careers
• Govt. jobs
• Skills needed
Mr. Johnson Tellis, CEO of Technical Career Education delivered the second interactive session on “Key Steps to Perform in the next three years of course along with academics” to AI-ML and Data Science Students. He emphasized on the following steps:
• Get accustomed to what is happening in the world
• How to play with data sets using required tools
• How to build an application
• To work with some small company in order to have good experience and build their profiles

Faculty of Humanities Dept. presented a paper at the Seminar organized by Akhila Bhartiya Sahitya Parishath

Akshaya_R_Shety Prof. Akshaya Kumari Shetty, Dept. of Humanities, presented a paper on “National Consciousness in Post Modernism” organized by Akhila Bharathiya Saahitya Parishath at University College, Mangaluru.
The seminar was held on the theme of ‘National consciousness or oneness as an expression at different eras of literature’. Prof. Akshaya Shetty discussed about Post-Modernism and raptured mentality, loneliness were the philosophical thoughts of that period which was reflected in post-modernism literature. Dr. Vasanth Kumaar Perla, President of Akhila Bharatiya Saahitya Parishath, in his Presidential speech, discussed about current mentality of individuals, i.e. thinking of self, more than about Nation. Prof. Akshaya Shetty also presented her paper on “Anthropological Background in Diety Worship” recently in Kannada Vijnana Sammelana held at Mangala Gangothri, Mangalore University organized by Svadeshi Vijnaana Andolana, Karnataka.

(UniCourt) is conducting the first round of Virtual campus recruitment drive as a part of their selection process for engineering students of 2022 outgoing batch.
