ISE Student Wins Silver & Bronze Medals in Swimming

Swimming Aditya Bhandary of Second year Information Science & Engineering participated in State Level Senior Swimming competition and won Silver medal in 50 Mtrs freestyle and Bronze medal in 50 Mtrs. Butterfly. The event was held at Corporation Swimming Pool, Bengaluru during 23rd to 28th September, 2021.


Bridge Course 2021 for Engineering Aspirants

Day Nine (6th Oct, 2021)

Day Nine of the Bridge Course was conducted for the students as a progressive session to building both the Line Follower Bot and the RC plane. The team of DTi Labz helped the students to complete their Bots using Dream Kit in the morning session. In the afternoon session, the students were indulged in the completion of the RC plane assisted by the team of Flotanomers. The day concluded with the respective student teams testing the bots and planes built by them, getting it all set before the final showdown at the mega event.

Dept. of CSE organized a Talk on “Substance Abuse the End of Happiness” for Third Year CSE Students

Substance_Abuse On 7th October, 2021, Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering organized a talk on “Substance Abuse the End of Happiness” for Third year CSE students. The Resource Person, Mr. Ankith S Kumar, Student Counsellor, Health & Counselling Centre interacted with students by delivering insightful information. The key topics covered in the session included:

On 7th October, 2021, Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering organized a talk on “Real-Time Programming Vs competitive programming” for second year CSE, AI-ML and Data Science students. The Resource Person Dr. Mustafa Basthikodi, Professor, Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering, interacted with students by delivering insightful information on becoming a competitive programmer. The key topics covered in the session included:
● Challenges in Human Life without Computers/Technologies/Internet
● Role of Computer Engineering professionals in Instrumentation, Interconnection and Intelligence for building digital world.
● Societal Requirements and Demands on IT
● Real-Time Programming

Day Two (5th Oct, 2021)

In the first session of the day, Prof. Megha N, delivered a brief introduction on evolution and applications of Embedded Systems, Industries related to Embedded Systems, Future Scope of Embedded Systems and Career opportunities for students in Embedded System filed as well as skills required to be an embedded engineer.
In the next session, Prof. Chandra Singh, delivered the importance of Electronics & Communication branch and spoke about the career opportunities available in the Government sectors for ECE students & the importance of GATE. He emphasized on the importance of Projects and also spoke about the gist of subjects involved in upcoming semesters.
Day Three (6th Oct, 2021)

Session Prof. Ashwin Kumar delivered a session on “VLSI Job Opportunities” to 3rd semester ECE students.
The Key points discussed in the session were:
• The chip manufacturing is increasingly controlled by integrated device manufacturers, pure play foundries and Fab-less company.
• India has both immense potential and challenges in its journey to becoming a global player in semiconductor chip manufacturing.
• Challenges faced in semiconductor chip manufacturing industries.
• Carrier opportunities in VLSI back and front end.
• Major multinational VLSI companies.
Prof. Manjunatha Badiger gave a brief introduction on Electronics and its developmental history. He spoke about future Scope of Semiconductor Industries and career opportunities in the Industries related to that. Finally, he gave insight on all of the courses covered in the forthcoming semesters.
Prof. Gurusiddayya Hiremath spoke about various learning opportunities in the campus with respect to Electronics & Communication Engineering like Launchpads, Startups, Incubation centers and In-house companies. He also insisted the students to effectively utilize the opportunities and build a career out of the available resources.

Practical Training session on Emergency First Aid conducted for Mechanical Engineering Students

Dept. of Mechanical Engineering organized a Practical Training Session for the Mechanical Engineering students on Emergency First Aid by Mr. Ankith S Kumar, Student Counsellor. The students were trained in the basics of first aid response and rescue. Mr. Ankith S Kumar trained the students on the skills required to provide first aid for the people during any emergency. Techniques such as CPR, Bandages, patient lifting and transport, burn control and various other important lifesaving skills were demonstrated and the students were made to practice the same

Dr. Prabhu interacts with the employees of Capgemini

Ananth_Prabhu Dr. Ananth Prabhu G, Professor in the Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering and Principal Investigator at the Digital Forensics and Cyber Security CoE at Sahyadri was invited by Capgemini to deliver a lecture on "Digital De Addiction" for their employees.
Dr. Prabhu in his 1.5 hours of interaction spoke about the various digital addictions, Nomophobia, Phantom Vibration Syndrome, Parental Controls, Apps to limit the screen time, the various hormones that trigger addiction and finally about Digital Detox.
Mr. Poorna Chandra Rao, Director of Capgemini delivered the inaugural address. Employees from all the locations across the nation participated in this webinar.

Librarian Participates in Webinar conducted by DELNET, New Delhi

Bharathi_SH Dr. Bharathi K, Librarian participated in a webinar on TPS-DELNET Online Programme on "Kamala Das: The Poet and Writer in Quest of Truth" on 6th Oct, 2021 conducted by DELNET - Developing Library Network, Delhi.
Kamala Das shared her experience in literary works in this webinar. This webinar was useful in developing the writing skills. The other poets who participated are Dr. Rita Malhotra, Dr. Rumki Basu and Shri. Gopal Lahiri.
