Dty GM-HR, John Cockerill India Limited, Mumbai addresses MBAs on “Decision taken by Large, Medium & Small Industries”

Mr. Srikanth Kalyanasundaram, Deputy General Manager- HR, John Cockerill India Limited, Mumbai, Member of Leaders Excellence @ Harvard Square, industrial expert addressed the students of first year MBA and explained how trade unions are formed in large organizations. He also threw light on service sector. He further explained the different scenarios in large and small industries with respect to trade unions. He also said how pandemic has made difficult to retain the talent in the organization. His talk focused on the 10 skills crucial to sustain in the market.

ABC of Business, an Entrepreneurial Talk series - Episode 2

The 2nd Episode of ABC of Business, an Entrepreneurial Talk series was conducted on 15th September, 2021. Ms. Anushree Kamath, Creator of the Brand Happy Calf (Incubated at IIM-B, NSRCEL) and a Wellness Coach, was the Resource person. She spoke about the Vegan product line created by her and the way in which the product contributes to good health. Her journey as an entrepreneur was not that easy and had faced lot of challenges in each phase of this journey. However as the future of Entrepreneurial ventures is high yielding, she stuck to her plan and turned herself into a vegan and started approaching the market. She also spoke about how challenging it was to create a new market for her product.
Students interacted with the speaker with their questions on development of the product, Incubation centre as well as on procuring FSSAI certificate.

Fit-India Freedom Run 2.0 held for Staff and Students at Sahyadri Campus

In commemoration of the 75th Independence Day - "Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav", Fit- India Freedom Run 2.0 was organized by Sahyadri NSS unit and Department of Physical Education for the staff & students of Sahyadri on 18th September, 2021, Saturday at 11:00 am. A total of 105 enthusisats participated in the 02 km run event organized in the campus. Dr. Manjappa Sarathi, Director-R&D and Consultancy and Dr. Rajesha S, Principal flagged off the event.

Sahyadri NSS students experience “Kandad Onji Dina”, a One-Day special activity in the paddy fields

Sahyadri NSS unit in association with Sandeep Raj Track & Fields, Madooru organized "Kandad Onji Dina", special NSS field activity for all the NSS volunteers in the paddy fields at Beeri, Kotekar on 19th September, 2021, Sunday. A total of 30 NSS volunteers participated in the planting of paddy saplings in the field. The NSS volunteers got a first-hand experience of the agrarian life as they took part in the paddy farming process and got an insight into the actual process. Shri Narayan Kumpala, agriculturist and Social worker; Mr. Sandeep Raj, and Mr. Shravan, Local representatives arranged and guided the NSS volunteers in this activity. Ms. Shreelatha U A, NSS Programme and AAO; Prof. Ramesh K G, Dean-Strategic Planning; Mr. Ankith S Kumar, Student Counsellor and Mr. Navin Pillar, Cultural Coordinator organized this event for the Volunteers.

Faculty of Mechanical Engineering received Best Paper Award

The research paper titled “Bio Fuels” authored by Prof. Ajith B S and Co-authored by Dr. Ravichandra K.R, Head-Dept. of Mechanical Engineering received Best Paper Award in 16th Kannada Vijnana Sammelana held at Mangalore University, Mangalagangothri, Mangaluru during 15-17, September, 2021 organized by Swadeshi Vijnana Andolana, Karnataka.

Dr. Prabhu’s Cyber Safe Girl v4.0 book presented to Sonam Wanghchuk

A copy of Dr. Ananth Prabhu G’s 'Cyber Safe Girl v4.0' book was presented by Cyber Security Trainer Mr. Yashwant to Sonam Wanghchuk, the man behind the character of 'Phunsukh Wangdu' in the Bollywood film '3 Idiots', played by Amir Khan.
The movie has inspired many to follow their dreams. Mr Wangchuk is an Indian engineer, innovator and education reformist, he has been working in the field of education reform for more than 27 years. He is the recipient of many prestigious awards including the Magasay award, Rolex Award, Governors Medal by Jammu and Kashmir. Mr. Wangchuk was also invited to visit the Sahyadri CoE for Digital Forensics and Cyber Security and interact with the students.
