Technical Talk on Waste Water Management and its Conservation in the present scenario

Dr_Ravishankar Dr. Ravishankar, Environmental Consultant, Bengaluru addressed the faculty of all departments of Sahyadri about the role of Waste Water Management and the recent technological development in the field. He spoke about the possibilities of implementing the practice of Solid waste management and further, designing a Sewage Treatment Plant for the college campus. He emphasized on the conservation of waste water and further recycling and reusing the waste water. He also spoke about the need for effective algae removal from the water bodies.
Further, Dr. Manjappa Sarathi, Director-R&D and Consultancy gave an insight towards the quantum of waste water generated in and around Sahyadri Campus and biodegradable food waste generated in the Food court of Sahyadri Campus. He requested Dr. Ravishankar to pay a visit to the campus, in order to provide suggestions for implementation of a Sewage treatment plant in the college campus. Mr. Devdas Hegde, Trustee; Dr. Nalini E Rebello, Dean-Academics and Prof. Hemanth Prabhu B, HOD-Dept. of Civil Engineering were present during the talk.

Interaction with all Heads of Departments, Section Heads and Lab Instructors on Stock Register Maintenance

Dr. Manjappa Sarathi, Director-R&D and Consultancy, addressed the HoDs, Section Heads, and Lab Instructors of all departments. He emphasized on the need for maintaining Stock registers in all departments. Dr. Manjappa suggested that any item procured should undergo quality check and only after being certified of its quality, the item details entries should be maintained in Daily Register. The Daily Register will contain details of all items procured in the department daily. As and when time is available, entries should be transferred to the Stock Register. A separate Ledger has to be maintained for Permanent items/Equipment and separate ones to be maintained for consumables or recurring items in the list. Prof. Balakrishna S S, Vice-Principal suggested that Separate Stock registers have to be maintained for each individual laboratory.
Dr. Manjappa stated that new Stock Registers will be given to all departments and proper documentation has to be maintained effective October 1st, 2021. The stocks maintained so far will have to be filled in the Inventory and from there onwards, new Registers have to be maintained. The stocks will be verified at the end of every semester during an Audit between Departments. Items sent for service, unusable or obsolete have to be mentioned in the Stock Ledger and suitable action will be taken only after the Principal's decision. There was an interaction with various Faculty members at the end of the Session.

MBA Faculty invited as Resource Person on “Future skills for Future Managers” at Dr. NSAM First Grade College Nitte

NSAM Prof. Padmanabha B, Dept. of Business Administration, was the resource person for Session on "Future Skills for Future Managers" conducted by Dr. NSAM First Grade College Nitte for graduate students. In his address, he emphasized on the future job skill - Tech-savviness. The fourth industrial revolution is bringing together a lot of major technology trends. On their own, these individual technologies would transform businesses, but together they are completely reshaping the world. These technologies are referred to as ‘Future Skills’ which consists of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Internet of Things (IoT), Big Data, and Cyber Security. Employers want potential candidates to possess these future skills. Everyone needs to understand what these change are, how fast these different technologies are developing, and what that means for the business. Prof. Archana Bhat was the coordinator for the programme.
