Bridge Course 2021 for Engineering Aspirants

Day Two (28th Sep, 2021)

Day 2 of the Bridge Course began with the presentation of the storyboard creation activity done by the respective teams. A total of 10 teams came together to represent their respective teams in a unique way. Followed by which a session on Onshape was held where various basic concepts of the software and CAD modeling was taught to the students helping them learn to come up with amazing 3D designs for any prototype.

Proceeding with the afternoon session, the Dreamkit was introduced, wherein the students got an exposure in understanding the product on its own and interfacing it with multiple sensors by playing around alongside the kit.

Dr. Prabhu delivers a lecture to the Police officers of the Western Range

Dr. Ananth Prabhu G, Professor in the Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering and Principal Investigator of the Cyber Digital Forensics and Cyber Security Centre of Excellence at Sahyadri was invited by the office of the Inspector General of Western Range Police to deliver a lecture on Cyber Security.
A total of 45 officers from Dakshina Kannada, Uttara Kannada, Udupi and Chikamagalur were present. The Inaugural address was delivered by DySP Dinakar Shetty. Superintendent of Police Rishikesh S, IPS, Airport Protocol Officer Gopalakrishna Kunder and other officers were present in this 4-hour interaction about the new generation Cyber Crimes.
Dr. Prabhu spoke about the latest amendments made in the various acts of Information Technology and Karnataka Police act, new generation OSINT tools for speedy investigations, followed by an exhaustive round of Q and A.
Interns at Sahyadri CoE on Digital Forensics and Cyber Security, Adish Yermal and Likith U Salian from 3rd year Engineering accompanied Dr. Prabhu as a part of LIVE practical training.

Librarian enrolls for the Life membership of LIS Academy (LISA)

Dr. Bharathi is enrolled for LISA life membership. The LIS Academy (LISA) is a Centre for Research Excellence. LISA is a professional Charitable Trust established to work for the development of the profession and to assist libraries with the state of the art technology. The primary focus of the Academy is to provide need-based service to the different types of libraries in the country and to work for the advancement of Library and Information Science (LIS) profession at large.
