Mr. Srikanth Kalyanasundaram, Deputy General Manager- HR, John Cockerill India Limited, Mumbai, Member of Leaders Excellence @ Harvard Square, addressed the students of first year MBA regarding “Industrial Relations”. He highlighted the aspects related to Employee Relations and its importance in HRM. He explained the “Dunlop Model of Industrial Relation” mentioning that industrial relation system is a social sub-system and its actions are dependent on three factors: Technology, Economy and Distribution of political power. He added that these environmental factors determine the relationship between employers and workers.

Orientation on “Dalal Street Champion”, a Virtual Stock Trading Competition for MBA Students

Dept. of Business Administration conducted an Orientation on “Dalal Street Champion", a Virtual Stock Trading Competition for first year MBAs on 3rd Sep’2021. Dr. Vishal Samartha, Director–MBA welcomed the gathering. Session was facilitated by Capt. Nagaraj Rao, Professor of Strategy & Leadership, Dean-SCMS (PG Programs) Dayananda Sagar University Bengaluru and Dr. H N Shylaja, Associate Professor, School of Commerce and Management (PG), Dayananda Sagar University, Bengaluru.
Capt. Nagaraj Rao, emphasized on the importance of understanding the stock market investment and Dr. H N Shylaja, spoke about “Dalal Street Champion’’, an online trading competition organized by Vriddhi, The Fintech Club at SCMS - PG, Dayananda Sagar University in collaboration with TRDR Inc to be held during 15th Sep to 8th Oct 2021. The objective of this event is to make the students aware of the stock market and thereby enable them to develop the skills of designing a profitable portfolio. The top three contestants will be awarded a cash prize of Rs. 25,000; Rs. 15,000 and Rs. 10,000 respectively along with 7 consolation prizes of Rs. 2,500 with the PAID internship opportunity with TRDR Inc. for the top three contestants.
With the students studying the subject related to stock market, this activity will definitely add value towards their holistic knowledge of the subject. Additionally, students will be benefitted with the weekly sessions on various aspects of investments and stock markets during the competition period.
