Chairman addresses faculty members
Mr. Manjunath Bhandary, the Chairman, addressed the teaching and non teaching staff and shared the experience he had with people during his election campaign in his constituency at Shimoga. He recalled his experience with some examples and appreciated the commitment, belongingness of the poor people to their nation.
In his motivating talk to the staff he called upon them to give back to the society and serve the nation. Faculty members should motivate students to share and care and also keep keen eye on what is happening in our country, he added. He urged all the Sahyadrians to take the responsibility to take the institution to zenith.
TOXICS bids adieu to the outgoing students of CSE & ISE departments
TOXICS, student association of Computer Science & Engineering and Information Science & Engineering, held its Valedictory and Farewell for the outgoing students of the respective departments. Dr. A.J. Antony, Vice Principal, the Chief Guest, advised the students not to forget the people who have helped them in their career. He also suggested that the students be in contact with the teachers and the institution so that they can work together for the betterment of society. Dr. Umesh M. Bhushi, Principal, in his presidential address, appealed to the students to cultivate the habit of acheiving perfection through uniqueness in life. Mr. Sudheer Shetty, Head of the Department and President of TOXICS, extended his good wishes to the outgoing students. The academic and extra- curricular achievers were felicitated. The formal session was followed by a cultural programme.
Faculty members’ present research paper in International conference
A research paper titled, ‘Optimization of Machining parameters in drilling Granite particulate reinforced Epoxy Composites by using Grey Relational analysis’, authored by Mr. Jaimon Dennis Quadros and Mr. Suhas, Assistant Professors, Department of Mechanical Engineering, was presented in the Eighth International Conference on ‘Global Engineering, Science and Technology’, held at Novotel Hotel, World Trade Center, Dubai, U.A.E. The Conference was organized by Global Institute of Science and Technology, Australia and American Research and Publications International, New York, USA. The presented paper will be published in ‘Journal of Modern Science and Technology’ (ISSN 2201-6686).

The conference was organized by National Institute of Personnel Management, Mangalore chapter.

 Prof. Dayanand Shetty, Director STEP & Professor, Electronics & Communications Engineering is leaving for Silicon Valley and Berkley USA on 1st of May 2014 to attend IEEE/ION Position Location and Navigation Symposium, a Square Reception in 2014 IEEE Women in Engineering International Leadership Conference (WIE-ILC), Global Alumni Meet 2014, and to visit University of California , Berkley Campus and San Diego Campus .
