JEE Main 2019 Online Exam in Sahyadri Campus

The JEE Main 2019 for April session Online Exams were conducted in College computer labs in 2 batches with 150 students in each batch. A total of 1,500 students attempted the Test.

Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) MAIN is conducted by the NTA from 2019 onwards. JEE Main is applicable for admission to NITs, IIITs and CFTIs participating though Central Seat Allocation Board subject to the condition that the candidate should have secured at least 75% marks in the 12th class examination, or be in the top 20 percentile in the 12th class examination conducted by the respective Boards. For SC/ST candidates the qualifying marks would be 65% in the 12th class examination.

Sahyadrians Recruited by Attra Infotech Ltd.

Ms. Vaishnavi K L and Ms. Neha C Poojari from the Department of Computer Science & Engineering were recruited by Attra Infotech Ltd. for the position of Associate Engineer, with a Package of Rs. 4.5 Lakhs per Annum in the recently held campus recruitment drive at Sahyadri.

Attra is a multinational IT consulting and services company focused on providing technology services to financial institutions, payment companies, third party payment processors and gateways, retailers and other future segments. They are a domain focused organization helping their customers to make their payments objectives a reality.

Campus Recruitment drive - The Ian Martin Group

On their 4th Anniversary, The Ian Martin Group conducted a Pool Campus Recruitment Drive for BE students from all branches & MBA students of 2019 outgoing batch. A six member team headed by Mr. Murali Balasubramanyam - Vice President; Ms. Priyanka Shetty; Mr. Kaushal Jogi; Ms. Shraddha Asnotikar; Ms. Mayuri Venkatesh; Mr. Sagar Chatterjee & Ratheesh Manivannan from the Recruitment team were at the campus to facilitate the process. A total of 313 students from various colleges in DK & Udupi district participated in the drive & the results are awaited.

To bridge the gap between aspiring students and renowned institutions, TV 9 conducted Education Fair - 2019 as a unique platform for students to choose the premier institutions. This event was a mega opportunity for various institutes to attract the students.

The faculty members from various departments along with admission team of Sahyadri represented the institute at the Summit and interacted with the prospective parents and the students.

MBAs involve in Voting Awareness Campaign

In association with Indian Express, Sahyadri MBA and Engineering Students have actively participated in Voting awareness programme in Mangaluru. Prof. Padmanabha from the Department of Business Administration along with MBA and Engineering Students distributed the voting awareness pamphlets, brochures and booklets to the public. Around 1,000 to 1,500 people were met during this process.

Belthangady Block Congress President visits Sahyadri

Mr. B Rajashekara Ajri, the present Belthangady Block Congress President and Former Jilla Panchayath member visited the Campus and interacted with the Chairman – Mr. Manjunath Bhandary. He visited the departmental innovation centres and the various start-ups and industries of Sahyadri and had words of praise for its student-centric learning environment.

Prof. Sushma V has 10 years of experience in corporate organization and has worked in various domains like Telecom, Insurance, Media, Mortgage, Finance & Banking. She has vast experience as a Team Leader, Process Coach, Soft Skills Trainer, Workforce Manager, Quality Manager and also as an Operations Manager. She is teaching in Sahyadri MBA Department for the last 6 years and her area of interest is HR and Managerial Communication. She was deputed at IIT, Kharagpur for a Short-Term Course on HR Analytics and has now grown as a Trainer in HR Analytics. She is an MCOM, MBA and currently pursuing her PhD from VTU, Belagavi. She has even cleared the UGC-KSET. She is the Chief Editor of Sahyadri Daily, Weekly and Monthly Buzz. She is also the President of JCI Mangalore Disha, a Women only Chapter of JCI International.

• Chirag Bangera is from Mangaluru and did his BCOM from Canara College. He is now placed in Grassroots BPO, Bengaluru as an HR Business Partner and intends to grow as an IT Recruiter in the long run. He has done his internship of 2 months at Intech DMLS, Bengaluru and was instrumental in installing Biometric Attendance System in the company. He has conducted Training on Typing Skills for the UG students who visit Sahyadri. He has also participated in a Management Fest at IIM Indore. He has passion to learn new languages.
• Suyog Kulkarni is from Belgaum and has done his BCOM from Gogte College of Commerce in Belgaum. He is now placed at HDFC Bank through Campus Recruitment and aims to be a Marketing Manager. His team has won 1st place in SPSS project which is a Social Innovation Project and has also won 1st place in marketing case study challenge. He was also a part of the winning team in variety competition at Infosys Mangaluru. He has represented Sahyadri in a conference at IIM Bangalore. His hobbies include Photography. He is a music lover and passionate about cooking and travelling.
• Shainith is from Mangaluru. He did his BE in Mechanical from Mangalore Institute of Technology and Engineering (MITE). He also has 2 years of work experience as a Maintenance Engineer at Cardolite speciality Chemical India LLP. He is currently pursuing his MBA in HR and is placed in CareerNet, Bengaluru through Campus Recruitment. He is the MBA student Council President for 2018-2019. Investing in stock market & Listening to music are his hobbies. In the long run he aspires to own and manage multiple successful businesses as he owns a Cakes and Pastry shop named "Cherry on Top" since the last three years.
• Kalpitha Acharya is from Mangaluru. She did her BCOM from St. Aloysius College. Her hobbies include listening to music and exploring new places. She is currently doing her MBA in HR. Kalpitha is the student coordinator of Placement 2018-2019. She has won first place in HR Case study presentation and has conducted Training for Govt Schools. She is now placed in Grassroots BPO, Bengaluru as an HR Business Partner and also aims to be a Chief Human Resource Officer in the long run.
• Apoorva H S is from Moodbidri and has done her BCOM from Alvas Degree College in Moodbidri. Her hobbies are travelling, cooking and dancing. She has completed senior exam in Bharatanatyam and has also learnt various folk forms of dance. Apoorva has completed her 2 months internship in a Health Care Sector. She aspires to procure a position as an HR in any of the leading corporate houses.
• Vivek U is from Savanoor and has done his BCOM from Vivekananda Degree College in Puttur. He is passionate about Travelling. Vivek has done his 2 months internship in a Health Care Sector. He is currently doing his MBA in HR and looking for positions as an HR in any sector.
• Ashika Baktha is from Kasaragod, Kerala. She did her BCOM from Canara College in Mangaluru. She completed her 2 month internship at Enquero Global and has opportunities to continue in the same organization as an employee. Her hobbies include Crafts and Drawing. She is passionate about learning something new every time.
• Akash N is from Surathkal and did his BBM from SDM College in Mangaluru. He has completed his 2 month internship at Zomato Mangaluru and played a key role in expanding its operations to Suratkal location. He aspires to be an Entrepreneur. He is the member of District Commerce & Industries Centre (DCIC). His hobbies are playing cricket and cooking. He initiated Red Cross in his degree college. He works part-time in Catering Business.
• Subhashini is from Mangaluru and did her Degree from St. Agnes College. She is pursuing her MBA in Marketing and did her 2 month internship at Reliance Cashews on Quality Control. • Sheetal Chandavar is from Sirsi and did her Degree in Government First Grade College, Sirsi. She is currently doing her MBA in HR and wishes to work in HR Department of any leading corporate organizations. She is a Youtuber and makes YouTube videos on her Singing and loves to travel.
