Sahyadrian selected as GITHUB Campus Expert

Shashank S from 2nd year Information Science & Engineering has been selected as the Github Campus expert after clearing several rounds of interview. He is also one of the community leads of Sahyadri Open Source Community (SOSC) – Technical club of Sahyadri which is affiliated to Developer Student Club by Google, Mozilla campus club.

SOSC aims to create a student community to promote technological research and development. SOSC conducts technical workshops to upskill the students and provide necessary introduction to technologies in collaboration with student clubs.

A Campus Expert is a student trained to build a strong technical community in campus. Campus Experts have access to resources and support from GitHub, such as swag, sponsorship, and the opportunity to attend events like GitHub Universe. What started out as a way to encourage students to become advocates for GitHub is now a much broader initiative that starts with an eight-week training programme and features students from across the globe. As part of a network of technology leaders at universities around the world, the campus experts will receive training and mentorship from GitHub employees, opportunities to participate in exclusive events, and support to help grow the local student developer community.

Sahyadrians Recruited by Ian Martin Group

Ms. Dhanusha Bhandary, Ms. Danisha Shetty, Mr. Ashik Naik & Mr. Moosa Maashook from the Department of Mechanical Engineering; Ms. Ashmitha Alva from the Department of Information Science & Engineering; Ms. Suman R Kunte from the Department of Computer Science & Engineering and Ms. Saleeka Shama from MBA Department were recruited by Ian Martin Group for the position of Trainee Recruiter with a package of Rs. 3.00 Lakhs Per Annum in the recently held Campus Recruitment drive at Sahyadri.

MBA Alumnus interacts with the current MBA students

Mr. Amir Hassan , an alumnus of MBA Department of 2016-18 batch addressed the first year MBA students on selecting a specialisation. His talk was related to his industry experience, challenges he faced and the learning he obtained. He urged the students to take up specialisation based on thier interest and potential. He motivated the students to involve themselves in extra curricular activities for their overall development.

Second Awareness Programme on Investments by Sahyadri Capital Advisors LLP

The second Awareness Programme on Investment was organized by Sahyadri Capital Advisors LLP and facilitated by Prof. Raghavendra Prabhu, Department of Business Administration-MBA for the first year MBA students. He re-iterated the application process of Initial Public Offer (IPO) by companies. He also shared light on how one should make fundamental analysis before making investment in equity and also the calculation of intrinsic value of a share before making an investment.

Ms. Jayapadmini Kanchan is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Information Science & Engineering. She has pursued B.E from HKBKCE, Bangalore, M.Tech from SCEM, Mangalore. Her area of interest includes Network Security, Data Analytics, and Web Technology etc. She has published various research articles in international journals and conferences.

• Deekshitha Dsouza is from Mangaluru. She pursued her high school from Capitanio English Medium School Mangaluru and PU from Capitanio PU College Mangaluru.. Her hobbies includes dancing, travelling, and listening to music. She participated in an event KSHITJ held at IIT Kharagpur and in EXODIA-2018 held at IIT Mandi. Her aspiration is to become a good programmer and she would like to work for a reputed company.
• Abhinaya is from Bantwal. She pursued her high school from Holy Saviour School, Agrar, Bantwal and PUC from SVS College, Bantwal. Her hobbies include dancing, travelling, and collecting coins. She participated in event THATVA held at NIT Calicut and event TECHNEX held at IIT Varanasi.
• Rohit hails from Vijayapura. He pursued his high school from Narayana Concept School, Hyderabad and PUC from Narayana Junior College, Hyderabad. His hobbies include acting, dancing, listening to music. He participated in 19th VTU Youth Fest JANANI 2018 held at BKIT Bhalki. He achieved first place in Skit, second place in one act play and third place in folk orchestra. He also participated in Yuvajanotsava 2018-19 held at Sullia. He secured first place in one act play and group song and selected for state level competition. He aspires to join Indian Air Force.
• Abhishek Nayak is from Udupi. He pursued his high school from Glowinstar Integrated School and PUC from Vidyodaya Pre University College. His hobbies include drawing, dancing, and travelling. He participated in event ATMOS held at BITS PILANI, Hyderabad campus. He aspires to become entrepreneur.
• Navya N. Ail is from Mangaluru. She pursued her high school from Kerala Samajam English Medium School Pandeshwar, Mangaluru and PUC from Canara PU College Mangaluru. Her hobbies include singing, cooking (traditional), travelling, and playing shuttle and chess. Her aspiration is to work for a core company.
• Sharanya is from Kundapura. She pursued her high school and PUC from Govt. PU College, Bidkalkatte. Her hobbies include drawing, writing stories. Her aspiration is to work for a core company.
• Swathi is from Mangaluru. She pursued her high school from Canara Girl’s High School, Mangaluru and PUC at Sharada PU College Mangaluru. Her hobbies include outdoor games, and reading. She participated in event AT held at BITS PILANI, Rajasthan campus. Her aspiration is to work in cruise.
