MBA Faculty & Students attend ‘NIPM Regional Conference for Students’

National Institute of Personnel Management (NIPM), Mangaluru Chapter organized a ‘Regional Conference for Students’ and arranged talks from eminent personalities who focussed on current trends and needs of the students. Sahyadri MBA Department has an institutional membership with NIPM and has organized various events collaboratively in the past. Five of the students along with Prof. Sushma V from the Dept. of Business Administration-MBA attended the conference.

This conference not only gave insights on topics related to – ‘Employment Avenues & Preparedness’, ‘Drive for Entrepreneurial Success’ and ‘Competency – Driving Leadership & Performance’ but also gave an opportunity to network and build connections with the HRs of various organizations who are also the members of NIPM. Later this month, a Workshop on ‘Writing Research Papers’ would be organized by Sahyadri in collaboration with NIPM for the Faculty & students.

Sahyadrian Recruited by Pelatro

Ms. Chaithra Lakshmi C from the Department of Computer Science & Engineering was recruited by Pelatro for the position of Junior Implementation Specialist with a package of Rs. 4.5 Lakhs Per Annum in the recently held campus recruitment drive at Sahyadri.

Campus Recruitment Drive - Pratian Technologies

Pratian Technologies conducted an online assessment for the third year and Recruitment Drive for the final year students from the Department of Computer Science & Engineering, Information Science & Engineering and Electronics & Communication Engineering.

Mr. Pattabhi Ramaiah, Vice-President (Talent) accompanied by Mr. Ashok Kumar S, HR Manager, were at the campus to facilitate the process. A total of 300 students participated in it.

Librarian conferred with the Doctorate Degree from Mangalore University

Ms. Shwetha Kumari K, from the Sahyadri Central Library has been conferred with the Doctorate Degree at the 37th Convocation held at the Mangalore University. The title of her PhD thesis is - “Information literacy skills among research scholars and faculty members of engineering college libraries of Coastal Karnataka: A Study” which was carried out under the guidance of Dr. T.Y. Mallaiah, Deputy Librarian, Mangalore University.

Samarth Shenoy B. is currently working as Assistant Professor in the Department of Business Administration with 6 years of experience as faculty and two years of industry experience as trainer at Oracle India Ltd. His area of specialisation is marketing and HR. His area of research is Micro entrepreneurship.

Introduction of Mentees:
• Anush D. Shetty pursued his PU education from Govindadasa College, Surathkal and graduation from SDM College. He has a clear vision to see himself as entrepreneur in the coming days. Currently he has been placed in HDFC through campus recruitment.
• Sriharsha graduated from MGM College, Udupi. He has a great aspiration to set up career in the field of marketing. As planned he is doing his post-graduation with specialisation in marketing.
• Vinayas has pursued graduation from Vivekananda College Puttur. He always dreamed of leading a simple life with high value. And he would love to see himself as an employment giver than a seeker. He feels taking marketing specialisation would add value to his dreams.
• Abhay Pai pursued his graduation from St Aloysius College,Mangaluru. He has great interest in cars in which he is seeking career. He wants to run his own dealership firm. He did his final internship at Mahindra car showroom and currently he has been placed at HDFC during campus recruitment
• Anisha Marita Pinto hails from Bajpe. She had developed her interest in the field of commerce which led her to pursue B.Com from St Agnes College, Mangaluru. Currently she is in final year MBA with finance specialisation. She wanted to become a financial analyst and has been placed in HDFC for the same position.
• Sushanth B. Shetty is a B.Com graduate from Sharada PU College, Mangaluru. He is currently pursuing his MBA with finance specialisation. His hobbies are travelling, biking and playing. His aspiration is to become a financial analyst.
• Mohmmed Sufian Shareeq pursued his graduation from Sahyadri Composite Junior College, Thirthahalli. Currently he is pursuing his marketing specialization. He wants to become a marketing executive in an e-business company. He has done his marketing project in RDL Ltd which has helped him to define his career more precisely.
• Sanchith Chandrashekar completed his graduation from St. Aloysius College, Mangaluru. He wants to be an entrepreneur. He has done his marketing project at Surabhi Associates which helped to gain insight on retail chain in Mangaluru.
• Ashwitha P.F. pursued her graduation from SDM institution. Ashwitha is a simple girl whose dream is to lead an independent life by joining MNCs. Currently she is doing her specialisation in finance.
• Sandesh Shetty hails from Bramhavara, Udupi. He pursued BCA from SMS School. He wants to contribute something to his hometown by providing employment through entrepreneurship. Currently he is pursuing his post-graduation with marketing specialization.

2. Free eye check up camp
Sahyadri NSS Unit in association with Prasad Nethralaya will be organizing a Two-Day free eye check-up camp for all the staff and students in our campus during 25th to 26th of April, 2019 from 09:00am to 04:30 pm in the First Floor Seminar Hall. Those interested can make the best use of this facility.


3. Raman International Institute of Information Technology (Riiit) is visiting Sahyadri to conduct a Pool Campus Recruitment Drive for Computer Science, Information Science and Electronics & Communication Engineering students of 2019 outgoing batch.
