MBA Faculty & Students attend Training organized by JCI Mangaluru as a part of their Business Week initiatives Prof. Sushma V along with 3 students from first year MBA attended a Training organized by JCI Mangaluru on “Business Networking & Customer Handling” as a part of their Business Week initiatives held at Ocean Pearl, Mangaluru. Jc. Venugopal, National Trainer, JCI India facilitated the training.
By attending this programme, students were exposed to professionals from various corporate organizations and were also offered to pursue internship in their company.

Campus Recruitment drive - LAM Research Corporation

Campus Recruitment drive - LAM Research Corporation The LAM Research Corporation conducted Internship Drive for Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE) students of 2019 outgoing batch. A team headed by Mr. Sanooj , Electrical Manager and Mr. Astron Chethan Lobo, Associate Mechanical Manager from the recruitment team were at the campus to facilitate the process. A total of 40 students from ECE participated in the drive & written test for all the registered participants is scheduled on 3rd May, 2019.

Invited Talk on “Research Methodology” for Faculty Invited Talk on “Research Methodology” for Faculty Dept. of Computer Science and Engineering organized an invited talk to Faculty members on “Research Methodology” facilitated by Dr. Basavraj Talawar. Dr. Basavraj Talawar completed his PhD from IISC Bangalore, presently working as a, Asst Professor in the Dept of Computer Science & Engineering at NITK Suratkal. He presented the importance of research and attributes of a good researcher. He specified the objectives of the Research work, Environment or Context of the research problem. He also focused on how to write a research paper, the various sections of a paper, the importance of tables, figures and mathematical representation, simulations, results and discussions. He spoke on the importance of conferences and journals too. He concluded his talk by suggesting to publish the research work in SCI & SCOPUS indexed journals. The overall session was highly informative and interactive.

Introduction of Mentor:

Prof. Anilkumar N.S. is currently working as Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering. He obtained B.E Degree in Civil Engineering from JNN College of Engineering, Shivamogga and M.Tech in Environmental Engineering from University of B.D.T College of Engineering, Davangere. After his under-graduation, he worked at K.S. Polytechnic, Bengaluru as a lecturer. After completion of his post-graduation he took up his teaching career from Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management. He has 3 years of teaching experience.

He worked as an internship trainee at Karnataka Government District Bio Fuel Information and Demonstration Center, Shivamogga for different projects such as “Studies on Environmental Issues Concerned with Extraction of Bio- Fuel” and also a project on “Treatment and Testing of Bio Diesel Washed Water”, which is funded by Karnataka State Council for Science and Technology (KSCST) under the “Student Proposal Programme – 40th Series”. He has a few publications to his credit. His areas of interest are Water and Wastewater Engineering.

• Vaishnavi Madhusoodanan is from Kerala. She pursued her high school and PUC from Kendriya Vidyalaya No 2, Mangaluru. Her hobbies include drawing and reading. She aspires to become a successful civil engineer and wants to work particularly in the design field, and to pursue higher studies on the same.
• Rakshath Kumar G. is from Udupi. He pursued his high school and PUC from Govt Junior College, Byndoor. He is interested in both indoor and outdoor games. His aspiration is to work for a reputed organization and to create something new to help the society.
• Arjun K. is from Kasaragod. He pursued his high school from Jai Matha English Medium School, Kasaragod and PUC from Swamijis Higher Secondary School. He is interested in playing football and drawing. His aspiration is to become an entrepreneur.
• Dhanish Fareed is from Mangaluru. He pursued his high school from Lourdes Central School and PUC from St. Aloysius PU College, Mangaluru. His hobbies are playing indoor as well as outdoor games. His aspiration is to become a successful civil engineer..
• Ninaad Kotian is from Mangaluru. He pursued his high school from Lourdes Central School and PUC from Mahesh PU College, Mangaluru. His hobbies are biking and going on long rides. His aspiration is to become a successful business man.
• Prajwal hails from Kalaburagi. He pursued his high school from Sharanbasaveshwara Composite School and PUC from Doddappa Appa Residential Ind. PU Science. College, Kalaburagi. He interested in playing both indoor and outdoor games. His aspiration is to work for a reputed organization and to create something new to help the society.
• Aboobacker Siddique is from Kasargod. He pursued his high school from Apsara Public School, Kasaragod and PU from Chattanchal Higher Secondary School. He has participated in inter-college football competitions. He is interested in playing football and cricket. His aspiration is to start a new company.
• Ganapati P. Revankar is from Bagalkot. He pursued his high school from Veerapulakeshi High School, Badami and Diploma in Nalanda foundation Polytechnic Hubli. He is interested in playing games. His aspiration is to work for a reputed organization and to become a successful civil engineer.

Tomorrow at Sahyadri

• Workshop on “Writing Research Paper” organized by Dept. of Business Administration in collaboration with NIPM, Mangaluru Chapter
Prof. Nandan Prabhu from Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), Manipal would be facilitating a workshop on “Writing Research Paper” for the Faculty of MBA during 2 pm to 4.30 pm in the Sahyadri Board Room. Prof. Nandan Prabhu has about 32 years of teaching experience. He did his doctoral research on “Transformational leadership and Workplace Spirituality: A Structural Model of Team Effectiveness.” He has published his research papers in national and international journals that are indexed in Scopus and Web of Science. His research interests are in the areas of Organizational Behaviour and Corporate Finance.
