Team Ugram of first year engineering participated in an event called APOGEE 2019 held at BITS Pilani, Pilani Campus, Rajasthan under the mentoring of Ramya from second year Electronics and Communication Engineering. Following are their achievements:

Dept. of Computer Science Engineering felicitates Ms. Pavithree B Shetty

Ms. Pavithree B Shetty, an alumna of Sahyadri, First Rank holder in Computer Science and Engineering and the beneficiary of 4 Gold Medals from VTU was congratulated for her extraordinary accomplishment in academics. Dean Examination – Prof. Sudheer Shetty and Dr. J V Gorabal, Head of CSE Department felicitated her for the outstanding achievement. She was one the best outgoing students of CSE Department during her course of engineering at Sahyadri. She got placed in Moonraft Innovation Labs with a package of Rs. 8 lakhs per annum.

Department of Computer Science Engineering organized “ARPAN-2K19”

Computer Legends of the Unified Department at Sahyadri (CLOUDS) of Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering organized an event “ARPAN-2K19”. More than Forty events were conducted with a view to raise funds for donating to orphanages in and around the city. Ms. Pavithree B Shetty, an alumna of CSE who secured 1st rank in VTU with 4 gold medals was the Chief Guest of the event. While addressing the gathering, Pavithree said that one should be passionate about their dreams to achieve it. She also re-iterated that we can make most prominent heights of success by focusing towards our goals. Dr. J V Gorabal, Head of Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) in his Presidential address appreciated the efforts of CLOUDS and the support of all the faculty members and students in raising the funds. Prof. Sudheer Shetty, Dean-Examination addressed the students. The CLOUDS team comprising of Mr. Krithesh Bhandary, Vice-President; Ms. Pooja N S, Staff Coordinator and Ms. Souravi, General Secretary were present on this occasion. Formal event was followed by cultural programme.

Introduction of Mentor:
Mrs. Navyashree B.R. is currently working as Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering since 2.5 years. She did her Diploma in Civil Engineering from Vivekananda Polytechnic, B.E in Civil Engineering from Vivekananda College of Engineering and Technology and M.Tech from The Oxford College of Engineering, Bengaluru with specialization in structural engineering. She is life time member of Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE).

Introduction of Mentees:
• Abdul Vahab did his schooling from Mookambika Temple School and PUC from R. N. Shetty PU College. He is a very good cricketer and a volleyball player. His aspiration is to get into one of the best civil companies.
• Anup N. Prasad is from Mangaluru. He did his schooling from Vishwamangala High School, and PUC from Sharada PU College, Mangaluru. He is interested in playing badminton and cricket. After completing his engineering he wishes to get into PWD.
• Manish is from Mangaluru. He did his schooling in Canara High School, and PUC from Canara PU College, Mangaluru. He is interested in playing carom and cricket. He aspires to become a good engineer and work under PWD.
• Nidhish Shetty is from Belthangady. He did his schooling in Vani English Medium School, Belthangady and PUC from Alvas PU College, Moodabidri. He is a very good dancer. His aspiration is to become a good civil engineer and contribute in field of infrastructure.
• Rachan is from Belthangady. He did his schooling from Holy Redeemer English Medium School and PUC from Sacred Heart PU College, Madantyar. He is interested in indoor game carom and cricket. His aspiration is to start his own construction company and consultancy.
• Soumya B. Gouda hails from Karwar, Uttara Kannada. She did her schooling from Amritha Vidyalaya, Karwar and PUC from St. Joseph’s Composite PU College of Commerce and Science, Karwar. She is a very good classical dancer and has a hobby of reading genres of novels. Her aspiration is to get a government job. She also wishes to pursue a career in the field of dance.
• Sushanth Krishna is from Kadaba. He did his schooling and PUC from Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Mudipu. His aspiration is to emerge as a successful civil engineer.
• B. Ajith is from Sirsi. He did his diploma from MES RNS Polytechnic, Sirsi and he is very much interested in outdoor games. His aspiration is to build his own consultancy and structural engineering company.

DREAMATHON 2K19
Conducted by DSI, DREAMATHON 2K19 is an event for budding coders and tech savvies to exhibit their talents in a variety of events- Hackathon, for web development and android applications and Gameathon, for developing games. The event kick starts on the 13th April, 2019 and continues for 36 hours till 14th April, 2019. The winners get to take home prizes worth rupees 1,00,000.
