They also took the pledge to spread awareness about election and encourage others to vote.

Three-Day workshop on Cadence Tool for the students of Electronics & Communication Engineering

Three-Day workshop on Cadence Tool for the students of Electronics Three-Day workshop on Cadence Tool for the students of Electronics A Three-Day workshop on Cadence Tool was conducted for the second year and third year students of Electronics and Communication Engineering. The main aim of the workshop was to give an insight on cadence tool and ignite the interest of students. This session was organized in view of the future demand for the tool.

Morning session involved briefing about basics of Analog electronics, Digital electronics and the tool. Theory and practical sessions on schematic, simulation and layout concepts on VlSI was performed in the afternoon session. The sessions were very interactive. A total of 105 students benefitted from the workshop which was facilitated by the Student trainers - Arpita, Veekshitha, Priya, Punya, Ranjith, Hamdan and Savitha.

Campus Recruitment Drive - Diya Systems

Campus Recruitment Drive - Diya Systems Diya Systems conducted a Campus Recruitment Drive for the engineering students of 2019 outgoing batch. A four- member recruitment team headed by Ms. Samriddhi - HR Executive (Alumna of Sahyadri MBA); Mr. Ebinezar Rata - Assistant Manager Recruitment; Mr. Santhosh Bhat - Trainer/QA Auditor and Mr. Nithesh Kumar - Trainer were at the campus to facilitate the process. A total of 135 students attended the drive and the results are awaited.

Campus Recruitment Drive - Amazon India

Campus Recruitment Drive - Amazon India Amazon India conducted a pool campus recruitment drive for all the branches of 2019 outgoing engineering batch. A total of 181 students from various colleges in DK & Udupi District participated in the online test and 67 students were shortlisted for further rounds of interview. This drive was for the position of Customer Service Associate (VCS).

Introduction of Mentor:

Shikha Rai A. is currently working as Assistant Professor of Electronics and Communication Engineering. She has a teaching experience of 2 years. She pursued B.E in Electronics and Communication from Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management, Mangaluru and M.Tech in Digital Electronics and Communication System from St Joseph Engineering College, Mangaluru.

Introduction of Mentees:
• Keerthana is from Udupi. She pursued her high school in Amrutha Bharathi High School, Karkala and PUC in Govt PU College, Karju. Her hobbies are reading novels, singing, painting, gardening and cooking. She is a self-learner and is very dedicated. She aspires to work in a core MNC.
• Swathi Rajesh is from Kannur, Kerala. She pursued her high school in Chinmaya Vidyalaya, and PUC in Chinmaya Vidyalaya PU College, Kannur. Her hobbies include dancing, cooking and singing. She is also a good athlete. She aspires to become an entrepreneur.
• Pavanje Manoj Rao is from Mangaluru. He pursued his high school in NITK High School, and PUC in Govinda Dasa PU College, Surathkal. He is a self and quick learner and is even good at sports. He is interested in photography. He aspires to work in a core MNC.
• Chethan Rajesh is from Kannur, Kerala. He pursued his high school in Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Kannur and PUC in Chinmaya Vidyalaya PU College, Kannur. His hobbies are playing football and listening to music. He is a good athlete and has participated in VTU Athletic Meet. He aspires to become an entrepreneur.
• Vaibhav K. Naik is from Ankola. He pursued his high school in Nirmala Hridaya High School, and PUC in Poorna Prajna PU College, Ankola. His hobbies include playing cricket and volleyball. He is good at sports and has participated in various athletic events. He aspires to join Indian Air force.
• Shivani S. Pai is from Mangaluru. She pursued her high school in Kendriya Vidyalaya, Pannambur, Mangaluru and PUC in Sharada PU College, Mangaluru. Her hobbies are gardening, cooking and singing. She is a self and a quick learner and has good communication skills. Her aspiration is to work in a multinational company.

Tomorrow at Sahyadri

Mozilla Campus Club
Mozilla Campus Club Sahyadri which is collaborated with SOSC is conducting workshop on VR, AR, VR headsets, Tilt brush, Jump, Blocks, Earth VR and Expeditions.

It will also be recruiting new members to the Mozilla Club. The chosen ones will get a chance to work on open source projects related to Gaming, Web Assembly, Rust and Mixed Reality. So, if you want to be part of our journey to spread the word of open source with Mozilla, do attend the workshop. NO Club joining fees and Workshop is also free.

Workshop will be held on 6th April 2019 at Ground floor Seminar Hall during 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.
