iot_interactioniot_interaction
An interactive session with two of the Industry Experts – Mr. Sandeep S and Mr. Himesh R was organized on 15th Apr’2020 to bridge the Industry-Academia gap using the Zoom platform for the students in 8th Semester Computer Science & Engineering. The session was moderated by Dr. Mustafa B, Researcher in IoT and Dr. Ananth Prabhu G, the Subject Professor for IoT.
Speaker Profiles:
Mr. Sandeep Sonaskar is an engineer with 11 years of expertise in the IoT domain. He is serving as the director of https://vsinformatics.org Himesh Reddivari holds a Bachelor Degree in Electronics & Communications Engineering from VIT Vellore and has completed his Robotics internship from Plymouth University, United Kingdom. He founded Module143 in 2014 and gave it a new height. He is an entrepreneur, Robotic enthusiast and IoT Application developer.
The future of IoT has the potential to be limitless. Advances to the industrial internet will be accelerated through increased network agility, integrated artificial intelligence (AI) and the capacity to deploy, automate, orchestrate and secure diverse use cases at hyperscale. The potential is not just in enabling billions of devices simultaneously but leveraging the huge volumes of actionable data which can automate diverse business processes. As networks and IoT platforms evolve to overcome these challenges, through increased capacity and AI, service providers will edge furthermore into IT and web scale markets – opening entire new streams of revenue.
Key Topics Discussed:
1. It is predicted that in total there will be more than 30 billion connected IoT devices by 2025, or "things". It also suggests industrial and automotive equipment represent the largest opportunity of connected "things,", but it also sees strong adoption of smart home and wearable devices in the near term.
2. How the new generation home automation works
3. Importance of MySQL and PhP
4. How the ESP 32 and ESP 12 works
5. www.thingspeak.com, a GUI based platform for IoT
6. io.adafruit.com is another excellent platform for IoT
7. How IoT is used to fight COVID 19
8. Cybercriminals will continue to use IoT devices to facilitate DDoS attacks
9. 5G Networks will continue to fuel IoT growth
10. Example of Health Monitoring of Old-aged people using the IoT
11. Tactile internet: The ability to reach out across space and physically interact with a person or object on the other side of the planet isn't just a new technological concept – it's something the human race has simply never been able to do before.
12. How IoT network works and the connectivity approaches
13. The new sensors and actuators in the market.
14. Better Healthcare, introduction of 5G with ultra-low latency of a few milliseconds and multi gigabit bandwidth provides a new dimension and enables reliable communication that has the ability to perform mission critical procedures.
15. The various cloud platforms
16. How certification plays an important role in bringing out an IoT product
17. Patents for safeguarding our product
Dr. Mustafa B has agreed to assist students who are interested to write journal and conference papers on IoT.
Bonus: They have offered to provide internships in IoT for the interested students.
