VTU Semester IV Results: Sahyadri 63.8%
The VTU results of Semester IV of all Engineering streams are declared. Out of 536 students who appeared for the VTU Examination 2013-14, 99 students passed with distinction, 145 with a first class and 98 with a second class, bringing the overall percentage score to 63.8%.

Anjali and Apoorva Rani K R with 82.33% has topped the Sahyadri College in Computer Science & Engineering in the Semester VI Edxamination of 2013 - 14 held by VTU. Ashwini N obtained the second position in the college with 81.66 % while Nagadeeksha with 81% stands third, bringing the overall percentage score of the department to 88.9%.
Day 2: Feel Employable Orientation Programme for New Entrants to
UG Courses
The day two student orientation “Feel Employable” – Phase II, for the new entrants of the engineering stream commenced with the session on “Human Relationship Skills”. Prof. Sunney Tharappan along with his team conducted the programme. The other topics dealt by the resource person were “Effective Criticism”, “The art of Describing”, “The Art of Arguing”, “The Art of Refuting”, “Influencing Communication” etc. Prof. Tharappan also stressed upon learning to be social and its importance.
The participants were given a chance to attempt how to write a bio–data and also mock interviews were conducted in two sessions within the groups which gave a corporate selection feel to the participants. A platform was provided for the participants to share their opinion and views through group discussions. Different activities were also held to make the sessions lively which ensured student’s active participation.
Prof. Sunney Tharappan is the Director of College for Leadership and HRD. College for Leadership and HRD is an institution which offers two Composite Graduate Programmes. The first is BHRD, a Composite Graduate Programme and the second is MFLHRD, a Composite Postgraduate Programme. Both are highly innovative in the sense that they are not affiliated to any university and are pursued by students alongside their university, graduate or postgraduate programmes.
Prof. Anila, CE, CLHRD, Mangalore , Prof. Subrahmanya P., Retd., St. Aloysius College, Mangalore, Prof. K.P.P. Sharma, Former Principal, CLHRD, Mangalore, Prof. Ananthapadmanabha Rao, Retd., SVS College, Bantwal, Ms. Meena Kumari, Lecturer KVG, Sullia and Dr, Savithri, Principal Sri Devi College of Interior Designing were the other resource persons.
Day 3: Train the Trainers program on Essentials of Soft Skills and Leadership
Mr. Arunkumar Khannur, Chairman & CEO, ISQT Process & Consulting Services Pvt. Ltd. addressed the faculty members of the college on “Essentials of Soft Skills and Leadership”.
He dealt with the topics like “Colour Brain Theory”, “Fundamentals of Powerful Principles of Instruction”, “First Order Principles of Instruction”, “Communication Process and the Agenda to be Followed” etc. He educated the participants on the models of adult learning and changing the role from teacher to facilitators. Twenty one faculty members of the college participated in the programme.
