SSTH College Visit – SRPUC, Ramakunja

The SSTH team visits Sri Ramakunjeshwara PU College, Ramakunja. Mr. Vaishak N. L., Assistant Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, accompanied by a team comprising of Mr. John Nikil, Mr. Jagath and Mr. Nilesh demonstrated the Dancing Humanoid, Quadcopter and the All Terrain vehicle. Nearly 150 students enthusiastically interacted with the SSTH team and showed great interest to participate in the upcoming SSTH events.

Invited as Referee and Technical officer for the Senior State Power lifting Championships.

Mr Karthik Raj Kudroli, Assistant Professor, Department of Business Administration, was invited as the Referee and technical officer to render his services in the XXXXI Men and XXXIII Women Karnataka State Senior Powerlifting Championships, 2015, held at Harihar, Davangere district on 1st and 2nd August. The event was organized by Vishwabandhu Marulasiddeshwara Kreeda Sangha, Harihar, Davangere Dist.

Parent’s orientation concludes

Parent’s orientation program concluded in the campus. Around 500 parents participated in the program over five different sessions. The Chairman Mr. Manjunath Bhandary, spoke on the value added courses, discipline, placement activities, projects and research activities in the college. He gave an insight into the various activities of the college and its vision. Dr. Umesh M. Bhushi, Principal, addressing the gathering spoke on the recruitment process, selection criteria and the attitude the students should maintain in the college.

“FEEL-Employable” Learning and Development Intervention Programme gets underway in the Campus

The three day training session “FEEL - Employable” learning and development intervention programme for first year students was inaugurated by the Principal, Dr. U. M. Bhushi. He addressed the students saying that we are all judgemental and reactive in nature which needs to be rectified and emphasize the need for holistic learning. He encouraged the students to actively participate in the sessions to follow and enjoy the learning process.

Mr. Umashankar, Dean Academics highlighted that India is going to cross the population of China, and has every opportunity of being the world’s largest human resource centre. The resource person Prof. Sunney Tharappan, Director, CLHRD stated that quality of a programme depends on the person who goes through the training. He also added that learning happens only when we have reflections on it. It is not enough to be good; we should be capable of showing it. Learning has no value unless it has an impact on our everyday living. Prof. Sunney Tharappan is a thinker, writer, master facilitator and trainer, but most of all, a teacher, researching on the development of human resource. He has trained over 86,000 students across India and Sri Lanka.

The FEEL Employable programme helps students redefine themselves through reinforcement of various areas of one’s own human resource. The strategies employed, the methodology adopted, the techniques used, and the action plan implemented is necessarily meant to promote the students to think in positive lines and feel comfortable with his or her achievements. Two hundred and fifty students from four batches of first year Engineering participated in the session. It was co-ordinated by Dr. Molly Chaudhuri, Head, Department of Training.
