Professor of Kulliyyah of Engineering, International Islamic University, Malaysia interacts with Mechanical Department
On 22nd Aug’19, Dr. Sher Afghan Khan, Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Kulliyah of Engineering, International Islamic University, Malaysia visited Sahyadri. His area of specialization are Gas Dynamics, Experimental Aerodynamics, Active and Passive Control of High Speed Jets, Sudden Expansion Problems and Base Drag Reduction Techniques, Estimation of Stability Derivatives for Wedges, Wings, Ogives & Cones in Supersonic /Hypersonic Flows, Heat Transfer, Thermal Sciences, SI & CI Engines.
He addressed students and faculty members of Mechanical Engineering Department. He explained and gave an overview about various technological advances involved in Aerospace Applications by giving the examples of Chandarayana-2. He stressed on the importance of basic knowledge about various application based subjects and time management skills.
Orientation Program on Outcome Based Education and NBA Process
On 23rd Aug’19, Department of Information Science & Engineering has organized an Orientation Program on Outcome Based Education and NBA Process for the Second year students. Prof. Vasudeva Rao, an in-house faculty handled a session which highlighted the overview of Outcome Based Education, its importance and benefits. He also emphasized the benefits of NBA accreditation and overall NBA Process.
World Organ Donation day observed at Sahyadri
In commemoration of World Organ Donation day, Mr Ankith S Kumar, Student Counsellor, conducted an awareness session on organ donation for the first year engineering students on 22nd Aug’19. He explained about the importance and need of an organ donation in India. The students were also briefed about the process and procedure of organ donation and the eligibility to be a donor. Over the period of last one year more than 48 individuals including students and staff have pledged to donate their organs.
Sahyadrian pledges to donate all his organs
There is no dearth of people who need critical organs to improve their span of life. It’s a generous gesture on the part of a person who decides to donate their organs if something happens to them!
Mr. Ramnath Kini K, a First Year Engineering student has pledged to donate his organs on 23rd Aug’19 under the guidance and supervision of Mr. Ankith S.Kumar, Student Counsellor. He has registered his name as a donor in the National Organ and Tissue Transplant Organization (NOTTO). Sahyadri is proud of his heroic gesture and applauds his decision.
