Aeromodelling Workshop conducted by Team Challengers

Bridge Course for New Entrants to MBA Batch 2019Bridge Course for New Entrants to MBA Batch 2019 Team Challengers conducted Aero-modelling Workshop during 24th to 25th Aug’19. The aircraft models developed during the aero-modelling workshop were a major attraction for students. Over 72 students from various colleges participated in this Two-Day workshop. A total of 15 teams with mentors competed with each other.

Day One had interesting theoretical sessions covering the basics of aerodynamics and calculations concerning the fundamental stability of the planes. Aircraft model requires presence of mind and sound knowledge of flight principles, therefore, the day continued with the elaborated explanation of different kinds of wings, tails and other configurations. During the second part of the day, the participants where introduced to basic operations on the software XFLR.

Looking at the urge of students to learn more, the second day began with each student having hands-on experience on building a plane. Avispad-15 was the chosen model to build. The team building the finest model with proper aerodynamics was awarded. Students were given exposure to design wing profiles and construction of aircraft models, also giving them heads-up on the software’s for developing new models. The workshop concluded with an overwhelming ‘Air-Show’, which inspired students.
