Bridge Course for New Entrants to MBA Batch 2019

On 28th Aug’19, the third day of Bridge course, the first session was facilitated by Dr. Vidyavathi K who engaged students by conducting quiz on General Knowledge and Economics. She emphasised on the importance of Economics and Current Affairs.

The second session was conducted by Prof. Suchithra A, relating to Stock Market and the importance of Investment. Students were introduced to various financial services available in ‘Sahyadri Capital Advisors LLP’, an MBA Start-Up and disseminated the internship opportunities available for the students. She also encouraged the students to invest in share market and earn good returns.

The afternoon session was conducted by Mr. Prajwal Karkera, an alumnus of Sahyadri MBA (Batch 2015-17). His session focussed on the importance of communication and team work by conducting activities like - “Walk and Talk”, “Mad Ads” and “Game of Perspectives”. He also advised the students to utilize their college life effectively and capitalize every opportunity they receive at Sahyadri.

Rajesh T Mathew, Mentee of Dr. Vishal Samartha (2014-16) MBA batch publishes a Paper in Scopus Journal

Mr. Rajesh Mathew from the MBA batch of 2014-16 worked on ‘Application of Lev and Schwartz compensation Model’ at MCF, Mangaluru for his Final Year fourth semester project. It was through this project on HR Analytics that he procured a job as “Specialist in Accreditation and Quality Assurance Office” in the Kingdom University Bahrain. After three years, the proud mentee worked on the same project and published a paper in the Scopus Journal, International Journal of Scientific and Technology Research with Dr. Vishal Samartha, Director-MBA as the first author. In the words of Rajesh Mathew he says, 'this is the least I could do to my mentor'.

This would be a great inspiration to all Mentors to give their best without any expectation and the happiness from the same is unimaginable.

Caliper successfully manufactured 2nd set of Nuclear Reactor Parts

Having successfully supplied 1st set of nuclear reactor part last year, Caliper was awarded with order for 2nd set this year.

Caliper has successfully manufactured 2nd set of parts. Nuclear Power Corporation Inspector visited Caliper, inspected every aspect of quality & cleared the same for shipment. These products are yet again an import substitution & Caliper maintained its select class suppliers’ club, who can produce very critical products.

Professor & Associate Director of Extension, College of Fisheries addresses Engineering students

As a Part of Social Innovation Programme, Sahyadri Edu Dreamers R&D Pvt Ltd organized a Guest Talk for the students of First Year of Engineering. An expert from Fisheries and Agricultural Sector - Dr. Shivakumar Magada, Professor and Associate Director of Extension, College of Fisheries was the resource person. Dr. Shivakumar Magada presented the talk on these sectors and interacted with the students. He concluded his session by clarifying doubts that students had.

Fireworks AR app developed by Dreamsoft Innovations Private Limited has been selected as one amongst the three finalists in the Design4India Summit 2019 under the immersive category. It was a day-long event held in Bengaluru on 23rd Aug’19, which included Teach Talks from Specialists in AR, VR, immersive experience and Entrepreneurs.

Chegg India conducted an Online Assessment

Chegg India conducted an Online Assessment on 27th Aug’19 for the Computer Science, Information Science, Civil & Mechanical Engineering students of 2020 outgoing batch. A total of 328 students participated in the test and the results are awaited.

Tomorrow at Sahyadri

As a part of Fit India Movement, Sahyadri NSS Unit in collaboration with Sahyadri Sports department and Sahyadri Health Centre, will be organizing a 10,000 steps walk campaign and walkathon within the campus.

· For Faculty: Walkathon, brisk walking competition inside the campus boundaries at 04:45 pm onwards (time may vary as per weather conditions).

· For Students: 10,000 steps challenges – Students are required to download a health app with steps count feature and record their steps on 29th August, 2019. The student with the highest number of steps walked will be awarded.
