Sahyadri Celebrates the 74th Independence Day

indepandance-day The 74th celebration of India’s Independence Day was viewed with joy and pride by the teaching and non-teaching staff of Sahyadri. Mr. Iqbal Mohammad, Chief Guest, hoisted the National Flag.
Jaya He’ - The National Anthem was sung by the gathering of staff and management with gusto, giving it full-fledged attention. Mr. Iqbal Mohammed is currently the Chairman of Semnox Solutions Private Limited, a company he founded in 2008 in Mangaluru. Semnox specializes in providing IT products and solutions to the Leisure and Hospitality industry.

Mr. Iqbal’s passion for Software Programming prompted him to join Infosys. After a stint of around 13 years handling Fortune 100 clients in the IT services field, he wanted to try something different and subsequently founded Semnox to build products for the Leisure and Hospitality industry.
In his speech, Mr. Iqbal lauded Sahyadri for its commitment towards excellence. Having visited many institutions, he vehemently stated, that Sahyadri is different.

• Academic Excellence, Innovation and Incubation is happening at the Ground level
• Create value to you, students and the institute
• It is important to have a long term strategic intent and unwavering commitment to what we stand for, whether individual, company/Institution.
• If you have managed well during good times you can manage better in times of crisis
While concluding he emboldened the gathering to do something worthwhile and thus contribute to the society and to the Nation.
This was followed by the singing of the National Song – ‘Vande Mataram’ which evokes and eulogizes the history and struggles of our great nation.
Planting of sapling has its own history. When we plant a sapling we want it to grow and prosper just as we as Indians would want to grow and prosper and bring laurels to our great nation. The Chief Guest planted a Sapling with great pleasure with his own hands as a mark of Green India.
