Sahyadri Placed Among Top 25 in the Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievement (ARIIA) 2020
Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management (SCEM), takes pride in being ranked among the
TOP 25 in the Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovations Achievements (ARIIA) 2020, and notably the
TOP 3 in the State of Karnataka as per the E-released report by the Ministry of Education on 18th Aug’2020. Sahyadri is listed in ‘
Band A’ Institution in category of ‘Private or Self-Financed College’.
ARIIA has focused on 6 main Indicators
Ministry of Education, Govt. of India has initiated ‘Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements (ARIIA)’ to systematically rank education institutions and universities primarily on innovation related indicators. ARIIA considers all major indicators which are commonly used globally to rank most innovative education institutions/ universities in the world.
The Indicators are:
• Programs and Activities on IPR, Innovation, Start-up and Entrepreneurship
• Pre Incubation & Incubation Infrastructure & Facilities to Support I&E
• Annual Budget Spent on Promoting and Supporting I&E Activities
• Courses on Innovation, IPR and Entrepreneurship Development
• Intellectual Property (IP), Technology Transfer and Commercialization
• Successful Innovation and Start-ups & Funding Innovation & start-ups
The E-Release of Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements (ARIIA) was carried out in the august presence of the Chief Guest Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu, Hon’ble Vice President of India; Shri Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, Hon’ble Minister of Education and Shri Sanjay Shamrao Dhotre, Hon’ble Minister of State were the Guests of Honour.
Shri Anil Sahasrabudhe, Chairman, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Dr. Abhay Jere, Chief Innovation Officer, MHRD Innovation Cell, Shri Dipan Sahu, National Coordinator of NISP, ARIIA, and IIC, MHRD’s Innovation Cell were among the other dignitaries present during the E-Release.
ARIIA Ranking has a wide acceptance among India HEIs and it promises to inspire Indian institutions to reorient their mind-set and build ecosystems to encourage high quality research, innovation and entrepreneurship.
ARIIA aims at setting directions to institutions for future development, for making them globally competitive and strive to be forefront of innovation.

Dept. of Central Library organizes a Webinar on "Effective Utilization of E-resources under VTU Consortium through Knimbus Digital Library"
In the current scenario due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, students’ direct connectivity to the library for usage of books has been drastically reduced. In this connection it is important to know about availability of e-resources and e-consortium of VTU in the central library.
With a view to create awareness about availability and accessibility of e-resources under VTU consortium, a Webinar was organized by the Dept. of Central Library on "Effective Utilization of E-resources under VTU Consortium through Knimbus Digital Library"
Mr. Venkatesh, Senior Manager, Client Engagement-Knimbus Online Pvt. Ltd, New Delhi was the Resource Person. The session began with a keynote address by Dr. Rajesha, Principal.
Highlights of the session:
• Availability of e-resources under VTU consortium and its importance
• How to Access E-Journals and e-books
• Remote access of e-resources
• About User Registration for accessing the resources and also about self-registration
• Federated search through Knimbus and much more..
The session was coordinated by Dr. Bharathi, Head-Central Library. More than 75 faculty and students participated in this Webinar
