Friendly Cricket Match between Police Commissioner Mangalore XI and Superintendent of Police, Mangalore (SP) XI held at Sahyadri

Friendly Cricket Match between Police Commissioner Mangalore XI and Superintendent of Police, Mangalore Sahyadri hosted a friendly cricket match - Police Commissioner XI Vs Superintendent of Police (SP) XI at Sahyadri Cricket Ground. The event had the presence of top officials from the police department, who took their time out from their schedule to participate in this cricket match.

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Mr. Arun Chakravarthy headed the team from SP XI and played a crucial role in the teams winning performance against the Commissioner XI. Mr. Arun Chakravarthy along with his team Dr. B R Ravikanthe Gowda, Superintendent of Police; Mr. S Rishikesh Bhagawan IPS, Assistant Superintendent of Police; Mr. Hanumantharaya, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law & Order); Mr. Srinivas B S, Deputy Superintendent of Police; Mr. V J Sajeeth, Additional Superintendent of Police participated in the match and also explored the academic and corporate setup at the campus.

IGP Mr. Arun Chakravarthy specially expressed his happiness after witnessing the learning infrastructure created at the campus and was on all praise witnessing the startups and industries in the campus.

First Year Engineering students will be participating in “Techfest” at IIT Bombay

Techfest A total of 38 students of clan Samarpan would be participating in “Techfest”, a Technical Fest in Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay which will be held during 14th to 16th of December’18. The students are mentored by Mr. Johnson Tellis from Dtlabz. They will be participating in events such as Cozmo Clench, Meshmerize and Full Throttle International. Sahyadri wishes Good Luck to the students.

Dr. S Ramakrishna Sharma's Invited Talk in Yoga Shastra Sangamam in Vivekananda Kendra, Kanyakumari Dr. S Ramakrishna Sharma's Invited Talk in Yoga Shastra Sangamam in Vivekananda Kendra, Kanyakumari With the intention of disseminating the true experiential knowledge of Yoga Discipline and to point out errors and misinterpretations, a Three-Day National Conference was organized by Vivekananda Kendra, Kanyakumari. About 175 Delegates from across the country participated in this unique programme. Dr. S Ramakrishna Sharma, Adjunct Professor of Indian Scientific Heritage, was one of the Acharyas invited to present a chosen Shastra based topic. Dr. Sharma’s presentation conveyed powerful points without the aid of power point display. “Attempt is self-effort. Achievement is Grace.” This idea was brought to fore with living examples. Being a senior scholar, he was given the responsibility of moderating a few sessions of the presentations wherein his valuable observations were well received by the delegates.

Blowing of the Conch by Dr. Sharma drew the attention of all the delegates and the Guests as well. He inaugurated the first session by generating the Shankha Nada which had telling effect in the Eknath Hall, the venue of inaugural. A few delegates were inspired to select and fetch conches with the help of Dr. Sharma for their personal use at home. The Kendra has 800 centres across the country in almost all states. Dr. Sharma is invited to hold Workshops based on Yoga Shastra, by the Central University Kasargod and a few other institutions, in the near future.

Dr. Ashwath Rao
is a Professor & the Head of Electronics & Communication Engineering Department. He has 12 years of industry and teaching experience and more than 5 years of research experience. He has completed his B.E in Electronics and Communication Engineering from N M A M Institute of Technology, Nitte, Mangalore University and M.S in VLSI-CAD from Manipal Centre for Information Science, Manipal University and PGDBA in Marketing from Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies, NMIMS University. He obtained his PhD from Indian Institute of Information Technology, Allahabad. He has received a research grant of Rs. 30 Lakhs funded by Vision Group of Science and Technology, Government of Karnataka for the project titled - “Underground water detection, replenishment & mapping using Arial Infra-Red Application”. He is the Member of Board of Studies for M.Tech Programme in VLSI Design and Embedded System at NMAM Institute of Technology, Mangaluru. His areas of research include High-k Dielectrics, Microelectronics, MEMS, VLSI Design and Fabrication, Microelectronic Devices, Radiation effects on Semiconductor devices used for space application.

• Gahanashree is from Kundapur. She did her 10th from VKR Acharya English Medium Memorial High School, Kundapur and PUC from R N Shetty P U College, Kundapur. Her hobbies include Painting, Crafts, Athletics and playing Throw Ball. She aspires to work in a reputed MNC.
• Abdul Rahiman Amshif is from Vittla, Managluru. He did his 10th from Vittal Jaycees English Medium School, Basavanagudi, Vittla and PUC from St. Philomena PU College, Puttur. His hobbies include Sports and Athletics. He aspires to work in a Managerial Position in a Hardware firm.
• Meghana D Shetty is from Panemangalore. She did her 10th from Sri Sharada High School, Panemangalore and PUC from Vivekananda Pre-University College, Puttur. Her hobbies include reading books, playing tennis and crafting. She is also interested in Dance. She aspires to become a good engineer and wants to serve the society.
• Shettyan Roshanraj Naveenchandra is from Mangalore. He did his 10th from National Education Society High School Mumbai and PUC from NES Ratnam Junior College of Arts Science and Commerce, Mumbai. His hobbies include playing cricket, football and reading books. He aspires to work in an Electronic Hardware firm.
• Vaibhav Y Suvarna is from Mangalore. He did his 10th from Canara High School, Urwa, Mangalore and PUC from Canara PU College, Mangalore. His hobbies are playing table tennis, cricket and coin collection. He is a “A” certificate holder in NCC.
• Nayan Tulupule is from Mogarnad. He did his 10th from S.V.S.English School Vidyagiri, Bantwal and PUC from S.V.S PU College, Bantawal. His hobbies include Athletics and Cricket. He is also interested in Yakshagana. He aspires to serve the country hence wants to join Indian Air Force.
