Startup India Karnataka Yatra & Boot Camp at Sahyadri

Startup-India-Karnataka-Yatra-&-Boot-Camp-at-Sahyadri Dr. S Ramakrishna Sharma's Invited Talk in Yoga Shastra Sangamam in Vivekananda Kendra, Kanyakumari The State Government of Karnataka has decided to play an active role in promoting the Startup India initiative taken by the Prime Minister Hon’ble Shri Narendra Modi and has teamed up with Invest India, Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion (DIPP) & SingEx Exhibitions (India) for the Startup Karnataka Yatra.

Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management was recommended by KTECH INNOVATION HUB (NAIN) as the venue for the Boot Camp for Mangaluru region and to provide all support for a successful Karnataka Yatra by Startup India. The event was coordinated by the Sahyadri NAIN team and Team Operations.

The Startup Yatra Van was at the Sahyadri Campus. The students were presented a video regarding the startup opportunities and policies. Post this; Mr. Karandeep Singh addressed the students regarding the advantages of being an entrepreneur and the details of the Boot Camp to be organized tomorrow at Sahaydri. The camp will have an ideation workshop and then the pitching sessions. Around 69 registrations have been received for the boot camp tomorrow said Mr. Karandeep. The event was graced by Dr. Srinivasa Rao Kunte, Principal; Prof. S S Balakrishna, Vice-Principal, Dr. Rajesha, Dean-Academics and other staff members.

Tomorrow, the boot camp will be held at Seminar Hall from 9:30 am onwards. The morning session will be for the faculty "Train the Trainers" on how to promote entrepreneurship concept in the students. Later sessions will have ideation workshop and pitching for the students and startups.

Sahyadrians visit Pratian Technologies, Bengaluru

partian In order to make students – Day-One Employable, Star Performers and Entrepreneurs, a core team from Sahyadri visited Pratian Technologies in Bengaluru. Pratian Technologies is an IT Solution, Technology Consulting, Product Innovation and Enterprise Learning Solutions Company.

To enable students to pursue a specific career path, their areas of interest and passion, Pratian has tested framework for Content creation, assessment and specific competency development in an iterative manner. The team met Mr. Subramanian Sivakumar – CEO; Ms. Priyanka Grover – Vice President and their team to understand the learning and assessment framework and also the offerings in the Cloud and Healthcare Business. This visit has strengthened the relationship to work together with the organization that would enable Sahyadri to be the front runner in various student-centric innovations leading to employment of our students.

MBA Dept. organizes an Awareness Talk on “Various Avenues for Investment”

Mr. Ramachandra Bhat, Faculty at MGM College, Udupi addressed the first year MBAs on “The various avenues for investment”. He threw light on how the BSE index performs and also on why MBA’s should invest in mutual funds.

Introduction of the Mentor:
ShamanthRai Dr. Shamanth Rai
is an Associate Professor and HOD of Information Science & Engineering Department. He has pursued B.E from PACE, Mangaluru, M.Tech and PhD from IIIT-Allahabad. He has over 10 years of teaching experience which includes four years of research experience. His research area includes wireless networks, distributed databases, IoT etc. He has published various research articles in reputed SCI journals and IEEE conferences. He has also published a book chapter in Taylor & Francis. He is also serving as reviewer for various SCI journals and conferences.

Mentee Details
• Sathyavathi K N is from Kodagu. She studied 10th at Sree Krishna Vidya Mandira Kodagu and PUC from St. Anne's PU College Virajpet, Kodagu. Her hobbies include drawing, listening to music, reading books and travelling. She is interested in Cyber Security and Hacking and wants to be an ethical hacker such that she can serve the nation.
• Ashwija Jagadish is from Surathkal, Mangaluru. She studied her 10th at Delhi Public School, Mangaluru and did her PUC from St. Aloysius College, Mangaluru. Her hobbies are dancing, drawing, playing sports, listening to music. She aspires to become an entrepreneur and also pursue her passion for dance.
• Michel Rego is from Kankanady, Mangaluru. She did her schooling and PUC from St. Agnes, PU College, Mangaluru. Her hobbies are writing and dancing. Her goal is to become a hacker and an efficient engineer.
• Jimmy George K is from Belthangady. He studied his 10th at St. Savio English Medium High School Bendrala, Thotathady and PUC from SDM PU College, Ujire. His hobbies are playing cricket and listening to music. He aspires to become an officer in Indian Armed Forces.
• Yuvraj Vernekar is from Karwar. He completed his 10th at Amrita Vidyalayam, Karwar and PUC from Premier Institute of Science and Technology, Karwar. He likes playing football. He aspires to be an entrepreneur.
• Pushpa Manjunath Naik is from Honnavar, Uttara-Kannada District. She completed her 10th from Govt. Kannada Medium School, Honnavar and PUC from Shamili PU College, Udupi. Her hobbies include sketching and drawing. She is keen to learn hacking and be an ethical hacker.
• Abdul Afeel is from Puttur. He pursued his 10th from Bethany English Medium School Puttur and PUC from St. Philomena’s, Puttur. He is interested in Sports. He aspires to be a successful IT engineer.
