StartUp India Karnataka Yatra Boot Camp at Sahyadri StartUp India Karnataka Yatra Boot Camp at Sahyadri Mr. Amit Sharma, Project Incharge of StartUp India Yatra and Mr. Ashok Dabla were at the campus to facilitate the “Train the Trainer” workshop for faculty members as a part of the Boot Camp of StartUp India Karnataka Yatra organized in collaboration with K-Tech Innovation Hub, MHRDs Innovation Cell, GOI and New Age Incubation Network (NAIN).

Mr. Amit Sharma works with SingEx Exhibitions India Pvt Ltd, a company owned by Singapore Government.
Key Takeaways of the Workshop:
• Set Up Entrepreneurship Eco-System by involving faculty members, engaging alumni community and encouraging students and scholars
• Assign Faculty Coordinators based on Personality/Archetype and Research Area/Core Interests
• Assign Student Leaders who are Proactive and enable the environment preferably to the students of 2nd and 3rd year
• Engage the Alumni Community – Invite Alumni from Industry for Guest Talk, Sharing experiences and motivating students and also leverage the alumni network

He concluded the workshop by stating that he has taken this initiative to help younger generation so that they don’t have to go through the tough times of recession period what his generation went through.

Mentor-Mentee System at Sahyadri Introduction of the Mentor:
Prof. Sunil Kumar Rai is the Head (In charge) of Dept. of Civil Engineering. He has 8.5 years of teaching experience in Sahyadri with 2 years of Research experience. He has completed his B.E. from KVGCE Sullia and M. Tech (after clearing GATE exam) from Sahyadri. Presently, he is pursuing his PhD. He has mentored Student Projects which got funding of Rs. 3 Lakhs from NAIN and Rs. 60,000 from NIDHI PRAYAS. His areas of interest are Structural Analysis, Composite & Smart Materials, Concrete Technology, Geotechnical Engineering, Plates and Shells.

Mentee Details:
Meha Shetty is from Mangaluru. She has completed her 10th and 12th Grade at Presidency School in Mangaluru. Her hobbies include dancing, art, travelling, baking, sports and practicing martial arts. She aspires to be a reputed and successful Interior Designer.
Sahana J is from Tumkur. She has completed her 10th at St Marys School Tumkur and PUC in St. Aloysius PU College Mangaluru. Her hobbies includes dancing, sports, dress designing. She aspires to be a Head of Construction Company.
Ibrahim Munashik C M is from Kasargod. He did his 10th from Green Wood’s Public School, Palakunnu and PUC from Aliya Senior Secondary School, Kasargod. His hobbies include Playing Football, Photography and Reading Books. He aspires to become a Civil Engineer.
Amulya is from Kundapur. She did her 10th from Mother Theresa Memorial High School, Shankaranarayana and PUC from Excellent P U College, Sunnari. Her hobbies include Reading Books, Playing Throw Ball, Drawing and Dance. She aspires to become a good engineer and wants to serve the society.
Nikhil Chinnappa is from Kushalnagar, Kodagu. He did his 10th from Jnanaganga Residential School, Kodagu and PUC from Aishwarya PU College, Kodagu. His hobbies include Playing Football and Hockey. He aspires to be a civil engineer in designing.
Abdul Latheef is from Kunjathur, Manjeshwar. He did his 10th from little Lilli English Medium School Kumbala, Kasargod and PUC from St. Aloysius PU College Mangaluru. His hobbies include Playing Cricket and Shuttle. He aspires to an Engineer cum Entrepreneur.

Tomorrow at Sahyadri

Adani Power Limited is visiting Sahyadri to conduct a campus recruitment drive for the Mechanical Engineering students of 2019 outgoing batch.
Adani Power Limited is the power business subsidiary of Indian conglomerate Adani Group with head office at Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The company is India's largest private power producer, with capacity of 10,440 MW and also it is the largest solar power producer of India with a capacity of 688 MW. The sheer dynamism of the Group has helped Adani Power grow tremendously since its inception as well as incubate successful new businesses. As a result, the Power business today is one of the largest Businesses of the Adani Group.
