Sahyadrians Recruited by Caliber Technologies

Meghana from the Department of Information Science & Engineering and Krithesh Bhandary from the Department of Computer Science & Engineering have been selected by Caliber Technologies for the position of Trainee Software Engineer in the recently held Campus Recruitment drive at Sahyadri for the 2019 outgoing batch.

First Year MBAs visit Manipal Technologies, Manipal

A total of 60 students accompanied by faculty members – Prof. Girish Madla, Prof. Padmanabha B and Prof. Akshatha P visited Manipal Technologies Ltd, Manipal to develop a productive interface between industry and academia.

Mr. Raghuram, Head-HR of the Manipal Technologies guided the students and explained in detail the printing process. Major clients of MTL are Oxford, Indiannica, South India Bank, Andhra Bank etc. MTL employs more than 1500 labourers and has departments like pre-press, press, post-press and dispatch departments. An interactive question & answer session was held and all queries of the students were answered by the Head-HR.

Faculty publishes a Research Article in Journal of Geomatics [ISG]

A research article titled – “Land use and land cover change detection through spatial approach: A case study of Mangaluru Taluk, Karnataka” authored by Prof. Sanjith S Anchan, Department of Civil Engineering; Mr. Ateeth Shetty, Research Scholar, Mangaluru University; Dr. H Gangadhara Bhat, Professor, Marine Geology Department, Mangaluru University and Dr. Mohandas Chadaga, Professor, Department of Civil Engineering, MIT, Manipal was published in Journal of Geomatics. It was submitted on Apr 03, 2018 and in final form on Oct 22, 2018.

The “Journal of Geomatics” (JoG) (ISSN: 0976–1330) is a peer reviewed journal which covers all aspects of Geomatics – geodata acquisition, pre-processing, processing, analysis and publishing. Indian Society of Geomatics (ISG), established in 1993, is a premier society of professionals and institutions involved in promoting and popularising Geomatics in India.

Prof. Balakrishna. S. S is the Vice Principal of Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management and Professor at Mechanical Engineering Department. He has obtained his B.E. Degree from Mysore University and Master Degree from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. He is an academician with overall 34 years of teaching experience with 6 years of research and 14 years of administrative experience. He has worked as member of board of examination for Mysore and Kuvempu Universities. Before taking charge as Vice Principal he has served as Dean (administration), Dean (Planning & Development) and Head of the department of Mechanical Engineering. He has published many research articles in National and International journals & conferences. He has been the Chief Editor of News@Sahyadri.

• Mohammed Azman K is a student of 1st semester ‘F’ section. He is From Puttur. He has completed his SSLC from Sudana High School, Puttur & PUC from Vivekananda PU College Puttur. His hobbies are playing Cricket & Kabaddi. He has also won medals in Kabaddi tournament in high school level.
• A Mukesh Naik is a student of 1st semester ‘D’ section. He is from Punjalkatte, Bantwal. He has completed his SSLC and PUC from Sacred Heart English Medium School and College, Madanthiyar. His hobbies are playing Volleyball, Kabbadi, and Cricket.
• Sanchetha P C is a student of 1st semester ‘A’ section. She is from Mangalore. She has completed her SSLC from Kendriya Vidyalaya Ekkur & PUC from Expert P U College Kodialbail. Her hobbies are playing throw ball, badminton & listening to music.
• Jithesh D is a student of 1st semester ‘I’ section. He is from Puttur. He has completed his SSLC from Shri Ramakrishna High School, Puttur & PUC from Vivekananda P U College, Puttur. His hobbies are Drawing & Acting in drama.
• Blaren Chris D’Silva is a student of 1st semester ‘I’ section. He is from Mangalore. He has completed his SSLC from St. Joseph High School, Kulshekar & PUC from St. Aloysius P U College, Mangalore. His hobbies are Playing Music (Drums, Guitar and Key Board).
