Sahyadrians participate as Delegates at NITTE-KBL MSME Conclave 2019

MSMEMSME Prof. Sushma V, Dept. of Business Administration; Mr. Nikith Shetty, Caliper Engineering Pvt Ltd; Mr. Naveen and Srinath from Aptra Technologies participated as Delegates in the NITTE-KBL MSME Conclave 2019 held on 7th Dec’19 at Ocean Pearl Hotel, Mangaluru. They were accompanied by three of the MBA students – Olivia, Akshatha and Karthik who are currently in their first year MBA.

The conclave had plenary sessions aiming at identifying the issues which are hurdles in the sustainable growth of MSME’s and possible solutions that can assist MSME’s in the near future. The conclave rewarded MSME’s with outstanding achievements through innovation, leadership, dedication and commitment.

For Sahyadrians, it was a great platform to network with more than 200 delegates from Banking, IT, Service, Healthcare and Manufacturing Sectors; pitch their respective companies for Business Development and also takeaway suggestions from MSME experts on sustainable growth of their companies.

Sahyadri collaborates with Coorg Education Fund and Rotary Madikeri for Career Guidance Programme to the students of Coorg District

Career Guidance ProgrammeCareer Guidance Programme Sahyadri in association with Coorg Education Fund and Rotary Madikeri organized a Career Guidance Programme for the students of Coorg District at Kodava Samaja, Madikeri.

Mr. Johnson Tellis, CEO of Technical Career Education Pvt Ltd, and SHINE Foundation addressed the students on "How to Choose while making Career Choice". He urged the students to be aware about the changes taking place in the global scenario. He emphasized on essential skills needed in the 21st century to survive in this competitive world and also gave tips on how to acquire them.

The session was well appreciated by the student community and the organizers, who felt that this programme was unique in comparison to those of yesteryears. Around 440 students from 13 different schools of Coorg district along with their teachers participated in this progamme.

Prof. Ramesh K G, Dean-Strategic Planning coordinated the event with the organizers.

Program Lead, Centre for Social Innovation at Sahaydri (CSIS) takes part in a 2-day Conference in Bengaluru

Villgro-Unconvention-2019Villgro-Unconvention-2019 Mr. Gautham Nayak, Program Lead, Centre for Social Innovation at Sahaydri (CSIS) took part in a 2-Day Conference titled “Villgro – Unconvention 2019” during 6th to 7th Dec’19 at Taj Yeshwanthpur, Bengaluru.

Villgro Unconvention is one of India’s largest gatherings of social entrepreneurs, CSR professionals, investors, policymakers, and academia, to share knowledge, network, inspire, and get inspired. Villgro, formerly known as Rural Innovations Network, is India’s oldest and foremost social enterprise incubator. Villgro funds, mentors and incubates early-stage, innovation-based social enterprises that impact the lives of India’s poor. Since 2001, Villgro has incubated 119 such enterprises.

Panel discussions on Innovation in Value Chain, Innovation in Tech, Innovation in Financing and Innovation in Policy for major sectors such as Energy & Clean Tech, Education & Employability, Health and Agribusiness were the major highlights of the conference.

‘Kanasu’ Wheelchair Cricket organized at Sahyadri River-side Cricket Ground

KanasuKanasu ‘Kanasu’ Wheelchair Cricket Match, for the empowerment of the specially-abled was inaugurated at Sahyadri River-side Cricket Ground on 8th Dec’19.

As a part of the Disability Awareness Month 2019, the first ever Wheelchair Cricket Match was held between Maharashtra and Karnataka teams.

The Karnataka team secured victory over Maharashtra team.

Prof. Supriya obtained her B.E degree from Srinivas Institute of Technology, Mangaluru and M.Tech degree from NMAMIT, Nitte. She has 4 years of teaching experience. Her research interests are Networking and Cyber Security.

• Saikat Biswas is from West Bengal. He pursued his schooling from KV, Karwar and PUC from Resonance Institute Kota, Rajasthan. His hobbies are playing sports, playing virtual games and watching movies. He is interested in making his own virtual gaming world.
• Vedaprakash Karanth is from Mangaluru. He pursued his schooling from Sathya Sai Institution, Alike and PUC from Sathya Sai PU College, Vital. His hobbies are reading novels and playing football. He is interested in Cyber Security and wants to get placed in a top company.
• Vaibhavi Uday Naik is from Karwar. She pursued her schooling from Balmandir High School, Karwar and PUC at Government PU College. Her hobbies include painting and reading novels. She is interested in sports. She wants to become an Ethical Hacker.
• Vinol Chris D’Souza is from Mangaluru. He pursued his schooling from St Mary’s Catholic High School, Dubai and PUC from Mount Carmel Central School, Mangaluru. His hobbies include singing, playing guitar and playing football. He is interested to work in the software development field.
• Kyathi Rajesh Shetty is from Bantwal. She pursued her schooling from B.R.M.P.C.P. School and PUC from SVS College, Bantwal. Her hobbies include listening to music and writing. She is interested to work in the software development field.
• Neha Rao Moger is from Sullia. She pursued her schooling from VEM School and PUC from VC PU College, Puttur. Her hobbies include listening to music and dancing. She is interested in the software development field.
• T Subhiksha is from Puttur. She pursued her schooling and PUC from Kendriya Vidyalaya, Mangaluru. Her hobbies include drawing, playing musical instruments and reading novels. She is interested to work in software or IT field.
