Parent Interaction of New Entrants to the Engineering Stream 2020

On the second consecutive day, Mr. Manjunath Bhandary, Chairman held Interactive Sessions with the next batch of parents of entrants to the engineering stream joined through CET.
In his address, Mr. Bhandary highlighted about importance of industry-academia training which helps to bridge the gap between industry requirement and academic curriculum.
He reiterated the importance of Value Addition Course, Industry Connect Program, Project Based learning, Outbound Training, Personality Development, etc. by highlighting the present status on employability skills. He spoke about how Social Innovation Programs, one of initiatives at Sahyadri has helped students develop Idea-to-Prototype and receive funding.
Mr. Johnson, CEO, TCE also shared few insights on how Industry is revamping from the changes and getting adapted faster to the current technology, thereby making students possess creativity skills, lot of industry exposure and problem solving techniques.

Students Induction Programme (SIP) for the First Year Students held at the Campus

Students Induction Programme (SIP) a Two Days event for the First Year students was held at the campus.
Day One – 14.12.2020
Prof S.S. Balakrishna, Vice Principal declared the Inauguration of Students Induction Programme. He conveyed to the students regarding the facilities provided at Sahyadri and encouraged them to effectively use the facilities provided and work passionately towards achieving their goal.
Dr. Rajesha S., Principal, spoke in detail about the importance of academics and explained the college rules. Prof. Rashmi Bhandary, Dean-Placement & Training spoke about placements at Sahyadri. Mr Ankith Kumar, Student Counsellor spoke on Universal Human Values.
Day Two – 15.12.2020
Day Two was divided into three sessions which primarily dwelt on the topic of Universal Human values. Dr. Savitha, Associate Professor of Chemistry, Prof. Suchetha, Dept. of Mathematics, Prof. Manjunath Kamath, Dept. of MBA and Dr. Prashanth Rao, Head-Basic Science, shared their views on the topic.

Dept. of CSE in Association with Sahyadri IIC Organizes a Talk on "My Story- Motivational Session by Successful Innovators"

The Talk titled "My Story- Motivational Session by Successful Innovators" organized by Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering, in association with Sahyadri Institute Innovation Council (IIC), was facilitated by Mr. Mohammed Hanif, Co-Founder & Chief Technology Officer, Novigo Solutions Pvt. Ltd, Mangaluru. It was held on 14 Dec’2020 through Google Meet Platform.

• My learning as an Entrepreneur;

About the Resource Person:
Mohammed Hanif is one of the Co-Founders of Novigo Solutions Pvt. Ltd. Before Starting Novigo he had successfully Co-Founded Bearys Global Infotech, where he headed IT Services.
Mr. Hanif started his career with Accenture Services Pvt Limited on Microsoft technologies. He then moved to Infosys Technologies and worked mainly on Sharepoint Content Management Systems.
Working with major giants ignited the passion to start a company himself and excel by providing innovative solutions to clients.

CSE Faculty engages in a Webinar on Cyber Safety organised by VTU, Belagavi

Dr. Ananth Prabhu G, Professor of Computer Science & Engineering engaged in a Webinar on "Awareness on Cyber Crime: Prevention and Detection" organized under the aegis of the Women's Cell, Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi.
The Webinar was chaired by Prof. Karisiddappa, Honorable Vice Chancellor and Prof. A.S. Deshpande, Registrar, VTU.
Dr. Prabhu pointed out that Cybercrime is progressing at an incredibly fast pace, with new trends constantly emerging. Cybercriminals are becoming more agile, exploiting newer technologies with lightning speed, tailoring their attacks using new methods, and conniving with each other in ways not heard of or seen before.
Dr. Prabhu ruefully observed that complex criminal networks operate across the world, coordinating intricate attacks in a matter of minutes.
The Webinar highlighted on the below mentioned areas:
• Basic variants and vulnerabilities;
• Tips for cyber safety;
• Importance of data privacy, securing of digital footprint and other measures.
The Webinar ended with an exhaustive Q & A Session.
