A Talk on Awareness on Drug Abuse was organized for final MBA students by Rural Police Department, Vamanjoor in association with Lions Club, Kavoor. The Resource Person for was Dr. Keerthishree, Consultant Psychiatrist, KMC Hospital, Mangaluru.

Online_STTP Dr. Keerthishree gave inputs on the working of the brain as teenagers are more into experiments at their age which lands them into trouble. They are not just susceptible to Drugs and Alcohol, she added, but also Cellphones, Social Networking. These psychotic substances directly go to the brain and provoke them to do it again.
She discussed the consequences of such addiction and warned that the addicts fall prey to anxiety and stress when they are thwarted. She concluded by saying that one should not label them for their addiction, but instead should create awareness and help them come out of it.
Post her session Mr. Johnson D’Souza, Circle Inspector, Rural Police Department, Vamanjoor gave insights on Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) and requested the students to spread awareness of the same.
Ms. Swaroopa Shetty, Delegate-Lions Club, Kavoor and Ms. Sujatha Shetty, President-Lions Club Kavoor, were present.

Managing Director-Kahani Designworks holds Interactive Sessions with Students from Launchpads and Innovative Labs

Online_STTP On the third day of his visit, Mr. Raman Madhok held interactive sessions with the students from launchpads and innovation labs wherein he guided the students to bring in their aspirations to reality using engineering knowledge.
Mr. Madhok had a detailed discussion with Dr. Rajesha S., Principal regarding the functionalities of Sahyadri.

Deepthi and Velentina Laira Veigas, students of Electronics & Communication Engineering and Shreya D.G., student of Computer Science & Engineering from 2020 outgoing Batch have been recruited by Winman Software India LLP in the recently held Virtual Campus Recruitment Drive.
Winman Software India LLP is engaged in developing and distributing standardized software products with a special focus on income tax software for the Indian market.

Day Three of Bridge Course for MBA Batch 2020-22

First session of the day was facilitated by Prof. Padmanabha B, Dept. of Business Administration on “Understanding You in Yourself”. This was an activity-based session which enlightened the students on the importance of coming out of the comfort zone.
Afternoon session was conducted by Ms. Divyashree Gatty, Softskills Trainer at Diya Systems, Mangaluru. It was again an activity-based session which brought out the significance of beating one’s own targets. She also emphasized on the topics like Negotiation and optimum utilization of resources through the activities.

E-Cell of MBA Dept. organises an Online Family Business Summit

A Family Business Summit was organised by Entrepreneurship Cell of the Dept. of Business Administration. The summit witnessed the knowledge sharing by eminent and successful family managed business entrepreneurs. It was inaugurated by Dr. Vishal Samartha, Director-MBA. She gave a glimpse of Sahyadri to the participants.
The session was moderated by Prof. Samish Dalal, SP Jain School of Global Management. He also delivered the key note address and gave valuable insights for the success of family business. He compared the family business to the fingers of the palm. He also stressed on the importance of maintaining transparency with all members which is a key element for the success of the business.
The session also witnessed knowledge sharing by eminent panelists like Mr. Atulit Chokkani, Founder of The Tea Shelf, Mr. Nimesh Chinoy – SBU Head – SigmaWeld Director (Marketing) of Electronic Devices Worldwide Pvt. Ltd., Mr. Parin Khona – Director of Press Room Automation & Feed Fixtures Pvt. Ltd., Ms. Farheen Shaikh – Managing Director, Fab N Stitch, Ms. Pallavi Gupta – Vice President of Dollar Industries.
The panellists shared their experiences and journey of entering into family business.
The students were encouraged to believe in themselves which is a key factor for the success of the business. Students interested to get into family business were encouraged to get an understanding of the working before assuming a role in business.
This was followed by a Q&A session, where the panellists brought in their expertise and rich experience in answering the questions raised by the participants.
The summit received an overwhelming response from the participants.

Day Five of Students Induction Programme for the First Year Engineering Students

Online_STTPThe First Session was facilitated by Prof. Samarth Shenoy, Dept. of MBA. He spoke on the topic “Stress Management” and shared his knowledge on how stress has made a negative impact on students during this pandemic. He also discussed various techniques to handle stress in student life.
Next, Dr. Shamanth Rai, Associate Professor & Head, Dept. of Information Science & Engineering and Dr. Joyline Germine D’Sa, Head-Dept. of Electronics & Communication Engineering, gave a clear idea about their respective courses and scope of their field. They also spoke about the facilities (Research works/ Laboratory/Funded Projects) in their department.
The last session for the day was addressed by Dr. Savitha M.B., Associate Professor, Dept. of Chemistry and Dr F. Jyothi Serrao, Associate Professor, Dept of Physics. They spoke on the importance of Chemistry and Physics in Technical Education. All sessions received a very positive response from the virtual audience.

MBA Faculty Members attend One Week ATAL FDP on “Research Methodology”
