First session of the day was facilitated by Prof. Sushma V, Dept. of Business Administration on “Life Skills”. She presented the 4 H’s of Life Skill – Head, Heart, Hand and Health with anecdotes of her life and her students, so that the participants could relate it well and takeaway few lessons for life.
The next session was conducted by Dr. V. Anandavel, Dept. of Business Administration on “Why MBA” by sharing Case Studies on how a professional course like MBA can assist in taking decisions in real life scenarios for self and for the business houses.
Final session of the day was facilitated by Prof. Monisha Shetty, Dept. of Business Administration on “Trust your instincts”. Students left for the weekend with takeaways on the Movie Analysis – “Lunch Box” and “Hotel Mumbai”.

With an objective of making MBA students Industry-ready, Department of Business Administration has introduced Value added course on “Advanced Diploma in Tally, Accounts, GST & Advanced Excel Administration” for the MBA–Finance Specialization students who are currently in their Third Semester.
This certification course is application based which mainly focusses on hands-on experience which would give insights on filing of GST, Tally and accounts and advanced excel with shortcuts. The course is of forty eight hours duration, from 18-22 Dec’2020.
The Resource Person for the Certification course is Mr. Ganesh Rao, who has a rich experience of 13 years in Payroll, Finance and Accounts. He has completed his MBA (HR) from IMT Gurgaon and has trained more than 6,000 students. He has worked for companies like Cricinfo, Writgen, Zenta Knowledge Services Pvt. Ltd., Qualitree Solutions Pvt. Ltd., Deccan Cargo Express & Logistics Pvt. Ltd.
Mr. Ganesh has received All-rounder Ekalavya award from a Consultancy based in Bengaluru.

Day Six of Students Induction Programme for the First Year Engineering Students

The first session was facilitated by Prof. Deepthi N.T., Dept. of Mathematics. She spoke on the topic "Theatre and Education". She discussed about the importance of drama in a student’s life. Drama is recognized as one of the most effective ways to develop soft skills and emotional intelligence in students. Drama promotes communication skills, team work, dialogue and socialization, she said.
Next, Dr. Pushpalatha, Assoc. Professor & Head-Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering gave a clear idea about the course and scope of its field. She elaborated on the facilities i.e. Research Work/Laboratory/Funded projects in the department.
Ms. Nithisha Rodrigus, Director-Physical Education discussed about the opportunities available in college for sports. She said, sports play a significant role in an individual’s life. It helps build character, enhances analytical thinking, goal setting and risk taking, she added.
This was followed by a session by Mr. Naveen Pilar, Head- Dept. of Art & Culture. He spoke about the opportunities available in the field of extra-curricular activities. He encouraged students to take part in more cultural activities. The last session for the day was addressed by Dr. Nalini Rebello, Dean-Academics and Dr. Prashantha Rao, Head, Dept. of Basic Science. They explained the rules and regulations of the college which students should follow so as to remain focused in their studies.
All sessions received a very positive response from the virtual audience.

CSE Faculty Delivers an Online Lecture to the SBI Staff

Dr. Ananth Prabhu G, Professor of Computer Science & Engineering delivered an Online Lecture to the Senior Staff Members of State Bank of India (SBI) on "IoT in Banking Sector".
Dr. Prabhu spoke about the future of banking, the cyber threats and precautionary measures to be taken to avoid the new generation frauds.
The Lecture was attended by Shri. Anil Kumar Singh Bhandari, Chief General Manager and CISO and 287 officers from various countries where the branches are located. Mr. Jagdish Babu, CDAC-Hyderabad delivered the keynote address.
The Lecture was organized by CDAC-Center for Development of Advanced Computing, Govt of India as a part of the 10 Days Training Program.
