Training and Placement - Sahyadrians Recruited by Cognizant

cognizant A total of 74 Sahyadrians are recruited by Cognizant for the role of GenC with a Package of INR 4.00 Lakhs Per Annum.
Out of the 74 students recruited, 31 are from Computer Science & Engineering, 16 are from Information Science & Engineering, 17 from Electronics & Communication Engineering, 9 from Mechanical Engineering and one student is from Civil Engineering.

Day Five of Bridge Course for MBA Batch 2020-22

bridgecourse1 First session of the day was facilitated by Prof. Samarth Shenoy on “Change in Education System”. He shared anecdotes which re-iterated the contribution of Parents in shaping the lives of their children.
Next session was conducted by Prof. Raghavendra Prabhu on “Interview Tips”. He threw light on how to win the hearts of the interviewers and also emphasized on the various placement related activities held at the institute which enhances placement opportunities of our students.
Post lunch, the final year MBAs hosted Treasure Hunt, a fun-filled activity for their juniors, providing opportunities to them to know their Sahyadri Campus.

MBA-HR Students undergo Training on “Conducting Skip-Level Meetings”

MBA-HR With the intent to provide ready fitment to the industry, the MBA-HR Students were trained to conduct “Skip-Level Meetings” which is one of the key roles of an HR Business Partner. Role Play was held in which Akshatha Rao, student of MBA-HR, performed the role of an HR and conducted a Skip-Level Meeting with the participants.
Later, Prof. Sushma V, Dept. of Business Administration, the facilitator of the Training, gave a Mock session on how Skip-Level Meetings are held in Corporate houses and how they benefit the Employees as well as the organization at large. Students are now confident to perform this role in their hiring organization and can carry out this task effortlessly and also meet the end outcome.

Mech Dept. in Association with Sahyadri IIC Organizes a Talk on "My Story- Motivational Session by Successful Startup Founder"

The Talk titled " My Story- Motivational Session by Successful Startup Founder" organized by the Dept. of Mechanical Engineering, in association with Sahyadri Institute Innovation Council (IIC), was facilitated by Mr. Sukin Shetty, Founder-Toolxprez, a B2B ecommerce Startup. It was held on 21 Dec’2020 through Google Meet Platform.
Mr. Sukin motivated the participants by narrating his own life story and his journey towards becoming a Startup founder. In an inspiring manner, he related his own experiences which included various challenges & difficulties faced and in the end being appropriately rewarded for the effort.
Prof. Kiran Prakasha A, Dept. Coordinator-IIC, Industry Professionals, Faculty Members and students were the beneficiaries of the session.
About the Resource Person
Mr. Sukin Shetty has worked in various roles. He began his entrepreneurial journey to solve a difficult problem in manufacturing industries.
He founded Toolxprez, a B2B e-commerce Start-up, to solve the problem of procuring industrial products. Toolxprez has received many awards, recent one being ‘Emerging Company of the Year 2019’ Award.
Mr. Sukin has been mentoring aspiring entrepreneurs to help them launch their idea and convert it into a growing business.

ISE Dept. conducts Latex Workshop for Technical Writing

workshop The Dept. of Information Science & Engineering conducted a Virtual Latex Workshop for the students and staff in association with the Sahyadri Institute Innovation Council (IIC) and Students' Technical Association of Information Science & Engineering (STAISE) on 21 Dec’2020. The Resource Person for the workshop was Dr. Rajeev Ranjan, Associate Professor, Reva University.
Dr. Rajeev highlighted the importance of LATEX for Technical writing. He showed how to create an account in Share Latex – Online LATEX Editor to create a Latex File.
The following topics were demonstrated:

• Chapters
• Sections and Subsections
• Lists
• Tables
• Figures
About the Resource Person:
Dr. Rajeev Ranjan is currently working as Associate Professor in the Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering at Reva University, Bengaluru. His major areas of research include IOT and Wireless Sensor Networks. He has great experience of working in research projects where he has successfully completed DST projects worth Rs. 1 Crore.

Student Counselor invited as Keynote Speaker by Trisha Group of Institutions

ankith Mr. Ankith S Kumar, Student Counsellor was invited as the Keynote Speaker for the Valedictory Session for the B.Com students of Trisha Group of Institution. He spoke on the topic "Learning from Failures".
In the speech, Mr. Ankith searched for his experience and lessons learnt in life through various failures and emphasised on the importance of hope and perseverance in life. He answered queries of students about life and on facing failures. The session was well appreciated by students and management of Trisha Group of Institution.
