Chairman holds Interactive Sessions with Parents of New Entrants to the Engineering Stream through CET

Mr. Manjunath Bhandary, Chairman extended a warm welcome to the parents. He pointed out about the gap that exists between corporate requirements and academic curriculum. He spoke about how different activities like Outbound Training program, SSTH and initiatives like Social Innovation Program have reaped the fruits and how it has molded students to think product-centric.
He also said that corporates expect good exposure and attitude, skilled and aptitude knowledge in addition to basic criteria. He said that a true Engineer is expected to understand and create solution to the societal problems. He highlighted on Technical Value addition for Technical Upskilling and Training and Placement.
Job market is more of skill based and the emoluments offered are based on what value addition candidate brings with joining an organization as an employee, he concluded.
Mr. Johnson, CEO, TCE expressed his views about industry expectation from students and on similar lines how different types of training are imparted to students for upgrading their skills.

Sahyadri has launched “Webinar Series on Academic Autonomy” for a collective understanding of Curriculum Development under Autonomous Environment. The main focus is to bring in experts from industry and academy to share their knowledge and expertise in developing curriculum for the current and future social and technological trends.
In view of this, the First Session titled “Industry Driven Curriculum Development” was facilitated by Industry Expert Mr. Bala Thiagarajan, Vice President at Capgemini.
Mr. Thiagarajan shared his experience and views on expectation of current industries from engineering graduates. He also imparted his wisdom with few insights on curriculum formulation under autonomy.

Ms. Wilma Merina D'sa, Soft Skills Coach at Army Institute of Hotel Management & Catering Technology, Bengaluru and Ex - IBM Talent Acquisition Leader - South Zone, Mumbai and Kolkata Region was the guest speaker.

Ms. Wilma Merina D'sa has 15 plus years of experience in Staffing and Human Resources segment spanning across Finance and Administration, Banking and Insurance and FMCG verticals.
She has worked in the Human Resource Department at IBM India Pvt Ltd, India (Fortune 500 MNC) and the Talent Acquisition Department at Fidelity Investments Pvt Ltd. She is also associated with Jain Hetic University as a Mentor and Soft Skills Coach.

Winman Software Campus Recruitment Drive

Winman Software visited Sahyadri for conducting a Campus Recruitment Drive on 23 Dec’2020, for the Computer Science, Information Science and Electronics & Communication Engineering students of the 2021 outgoing batch.
A total of 80 students participated in the Drive and the results are awaited.
