Sahyadri hosts the two-day Cognizant State Level Placement Programme


Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management was host to the two-day Cognizant State Level Placement Programme (SLPP). 220 students from eleven pool colleges of the district took part in the drive.

Mr. Abhinav M. Joshi, HR - Talent Acquisition, and team of Cognizant Technology Solutions conducted the drive. From among the thirty shortlisted candidates of the online test, the Technical and HR round of interviews, sixteen were finally selected by the company for the position of Programme Analyst Trainee. Mr. Sagar S. Shetty and Ms. Sapna Rao, students of the College, Department of Computer Science & Engineering, were among the sixteen selected by Cognizant in the State Level Placement Drive.


GATE-2014 all-India Examination conducted
in Sahyadri

Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management in association with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and Indian Institute of Sciences, Bangalore (IISc) conducted the First Phase of computer based Test for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE-2014). A total of 400 candidates from all over the country sat for the exam for various streams like Civil, Aeronautical, Chemical, Architecture, Biotechnology, Mining, Agricultural, Metallurgical, Pharmaceutical Engineering etc.

GATE is an all-India examination that primarily tests the comprehensive understanding of various undergraduate subjects in engineering and science. The GATE score of a candidate reflects the relative performance level of a candidate. The score is used for admissions to various post-graduate programs (e.g. Master of Engineering, Master of Technology, and Doctor of Philosophy) in Indian higher education institutes, with financial assistance provided by MHRD and other government agencies. Recently, GATE scores are also being used by several Indian public sector undertakings (i.e., government-owned companies) for recruiting graduate engineers in entry-level positions. It is one of the most competitive examinations in India. It is a great honour for Sahyadri to conduct an exam of this kind.

Faculty member presents research paper in National Conference

Mr. Karthik Raj Kudroli, Assistant Professor, Department of Business Administration, presented a research paper titled, “Implementation of Green practices in supply chain- Literature survey based on Indian Perspective”, in the UGC sponsored national level conference, The Green Umbrella: Green Business Opportunities, held at Canara College, Mangalore.

Faculty member invited as resource person

Mr. Girish M., Assistant Professor, Department of Business Administration was invited as the resource person for “Utkarsh-2014”, a National Level Social Workers Meet organized by the Department of Social Work, Meredian College, Ullal, Mangalore. He delivered a talk on, “HR Professional as a Business Partner-Issues and Concerns”, on this occasion.
