Valedictory Ceremony of Drishti 2015 ‘Fete-Foraine’

The Department of Business Administration organized Drishti 2015 ‘Fete-Foraine’, a management fest for undergraduates at Sahyadri Campus. The winners of various competitions were felicitated on the valedictory ceremony.

The Director of the Department Dr A P Achar gave away the Trophies and the Certificates with cash prize for the winners of the Events. Click here to view the results.

“ORPH HELP”

CLOUDS, (Computer Legends Of Unified Department @ Sahyadri) ,Students’ Association of CSE, has organized an intradepartmental activity “ORPH HELP”. On this occasion various cultural and sports events will be held for the students of CSE.

On this occasion CLOUDS will collect funds to donate to an Orphanage. A donation box will be placed tomorrow in the college. Interested individuals can contribute financially or by donating items. Items can include clothes, soaps, books, pens, pencils, etc.


Vision Robotics Workshop

Sahyadri Government Research Centre will be organizing Zonal level Vision Robotics workshop cum competition in association with Robosapeins on 14th & 15th February 2015. Twenty neighboring engineering colleges are expected to attend this event. Winners of this Zonal level competition can represent SCEM at International Robotics Championship (Robotryst 2015) which will held at IIT Delhi.

Sahyadri Leadership Summit gets underway in the Campus

A two days leadership summit on “Managing Business during Uncertain Times- Unique Challenges and Smart Solutions” was organised by the Department of Business Administration in Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management.

The summit was inaugurated by Mr. Ananth Ravi, Senior Vice President of Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd. In his inaugural address he said that the business environment was stable till 1990. Due to liberalization, rapid technological innovation, change in customer preference, uncertainty has become the order of the day. The gap between growth and recession is very narrow and it throws a lot of challenges in managing business.

Mr. M.C. Dinesh, Vice President, FKCCI, in his key note address pointed out that there is a mismatch between academia and industry and the skill gap existing needs to be narrowed down to cater to the needs of the 21st century knowledge economy. Mr. Dinesh said that by 2020-25 India can become a three trillion dollar economy if we size up, scale up & speed up as a country with the largest skilled force. He emphasized that when five hundred million young Indians have the requisite skills to be industry-ready , India can aspire to go to next level and become the world’s supply chain for skilled work force. To leverage this history -shifting opportunity, we need to develop our leadership skills, NOW.

Dr. Manjunath Bhandary Chairman of Bhandary Foundation in his Presidential remarks stressed that a leader must have confidence, commitment, dedication, accountability, responsibility to overcome the uncertainties in business. He also stressed on the fact that uncertainty is faced in all walks of life but being proactive and vigilant is the dire necessity.

Dr. Umesh M. Bhushi, Principal, Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management welcomed the gathering and Dr. A.P. Achar, Director, Department of Business Administration gave an overview about the Summit.

The 1st session was on Managing business during uncertainty: unique challenges, smart solutions. The resource persons for the session were Mr.Srinivas H.N. General manager, Taj group Mumbai and Mr.Ramkumar seshu , Chairman, Skill, Education and HR committee, FKCCI. The session was chaired by Mr.Ananth Ravi Senior Vice President of Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd.

The afternoon session was on the topic Contextual leadership styles for sustaining and growth in volatile environment. The resource persons for the session were Mr.Augustus Azariya Associate Director-HR, IBM, India , Dr. Jebin Manohar Director HR and Talent Mangement Aptean Bengaluru and M. Jeba Kumar, Director HR& Legal Services/ Past Chairman NIPM
