TCS off Campus Recruitment Drive.

TCS Campus hiring team conducted off campus recruitment drive in the campus for 2015 batch engineering students. One thousand students had registered for the drive. Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management is one of the main regional centers for online test.

Infosys Off Campus Recruitment Drive

Mr.Arjun Pai Sr.Lead, Talent Acquisition, Infosys Ltd & Team conducted interview for 28 shortlisted VTU Engineering students in the campus. 26 students have been selected.

Minority Scholarship renewal 2014-15

Students who belong to Christian, Muslim, Jain, Sikh, Buddhist, Parsee and Anglo Indian Category for the year 2014-15 have to renew the scholarship.
1. MCM portal is reopened for renewal cases only for submission of online application and uploading of documents, from 17th to 22nd February, 2015.
2. The students, who have already submitted online application but were not able to upload documents before the last date, can upload the same from 17th to 22nd February, 2015.

Tomorrow at Sahyadri

Inauguration of Sahyadri Student Council
Sahyadri student council inauguration will be held in the campus tomorrow. Adv. Ivan D’Souza, Member of Legislative Council Govt. of Karnataka will be the honorable chief guest for the inaugural function.

Ivan D’Souza is an Indian Politician. He obtained his LLB degree from SDM Law College Mangalore. He began his political career in 1992 and also he is currently a member of Indian National Congress. In 2008, he was named as the candidate of Indian National Congress for Mangalore South constituency. He is currently the KPCC Member and Convener of Election Committee for the Indian National Congress in Dakshina Kannada.



Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management signs MoU with Mangalore University

The Karnataka Government Research Center of Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Mangalore University for Collaborative Research and Development, Education and Training for the benefit of students, researchers & faculty members with a vision to reach excellence in education and research.

The MoU was signed by Prof. P. S. Yadapadithaya, Registrar, Mangalore University, Prof. C. Ranganathaiah, Director Research, Sahyadri college of Engineering & Management, and Prof. Umesh M. Bhushi, Principal, in the august presence of Prof K. Byrappa, Hon. Vice-Chancellor, Mangalore University, Dr. Manjunath Bhandary, Chairman and Dr. D. L. Prabhakara, Director, Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management. Collaborations under this MoU are focused on, but not limited to R&D work in projects relevant to composite materials, structural engineering (dynamics, design auditing and testing), material testing and visiting faculty or R&D assignments, M.S., M.Tech., Ph.D. programs, short-term training, and short-term courses. The MOU is intended to expedite R&D of new methods and technologies that can be implemented in support of Mangalore University and Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management to enhance technological capabilities, skilled human resources and economic growth. It is aimed at enhancing the quality of research and teaching at Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management and Mangalore University.

Prof. U.M Bhushi, Principal, welcomed the gathering and told that Engineering will grow only by the contribution of basic science research. Dr. Manjunath Bhandary, Chairman, advised the faculty to make use of the MoU by exploiting the research facilities at Mangalore University. He also said that research achievements are the indicator of success in many well known foreign universities. Research Director Prof. C. Ranganathaiah explained the importance of MoU and told that the strength of any institute is measured by its strength of research. He has advised the staff members to take advantage of the MoU and make use of microtron and other facilities available at Mangalore University.

The Registrar of Mangalore University Prof. P. S. Yadapadithaya conveyed that, this MoU supports effective collaboration to enhance the brand equity of both the institutes. He said that it is a momentous occasion for both the institutes. Prof. K. L. Byrappa expressed that engineering and Basic Science research should go together. He also advised the faculty of both the institutes to come forward and try to explore the collaborative research work. He said that the MoU will help in applying for research grants. Dr. D.L Prabhakara delivered the presidential remarks and opined that this MoU will be active because of the constant support of research director Prof. C Ranganathaiah and Hon. Vice-Chancellor Prof. K. Byrappa.
