Dr. K K Poornesh has joined the Department of Mechanical Engineering as an Associate Professor. He obtained a B.E. degree in Mechanical Engineering from MCE Hassan, and an M.Tech. and a Ph.D. from INHA University. His area of specialization is Clean Energy Technologies & Hydrogen Fuel Cells.

Capgemini Campus Recruitment Drive

Capgemini online test was held in the campus for the B.E/ B.Tech./ ME / M.Tech. / MCA 2016 passing out batch of students of Sahyadri. 123 students attended the test and 29 are shortlisted for the next round of the recruitment process.

Cap Gemini S. A. is a French multinational management consulting corporation headquartered in Paris, France. It is one of the world's largest consulting, technology and outsourcing companies with 180,000 employees in over 40 countries. It was founded in 1967 by Serge Kampf, the current vice-chairman, in Grenoble, France. Paul Hermelin chairman and CEO of the Capgemini group has led the company since his appointment in December 2001.

GATE-2016 held in Sahyadri

Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management in association with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and Indian Institute of Sciences, Bangalore (IISc.) conducted the computer-based test for the All-India Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE-2016). A total of 850 candidates from all over the country sat for the exam for various streams like Electronics, Mechanical, Civil, Aeronautical, Chemical, Architecture, Biotechnology, Mining, Agricultural, Metallurgical, Pharmaceutical Engineering etc.

GATE is an all-India examination that primarily tests the comprehensive understanding of various undergraduate subjects in engineering and science. The GATE score of a candidate reflects the relative performance level of a candidate. The score is used for admissions to various post-graduate programs (e.g. Master of Engineering, Master of Technology, and Doctor of Philosophy) in Indian higher education institutes, with financial assistance provided by MHRD and other government agencies. Recently, GATE scores are also being used by several Indian public sector undertakings (i.e., government-owned companies) for recruiting graduate engineers in entry-level positions. It is one of the most competitive examinations in India.

Basic Sciences, E&C & MBA Staff Cricket Team emerge the Champions in Sahyadri Staff Cricket League

The men’s staff cricket team with members of the Department of Basic Sciences, Electronics & Communication Engineering and the MBA Department has won the Sahyadri Staff Cricket League organized by the Department of Physical Education. The team from the Department of Mechanical Engineering is the runners-up.
