Sahyadri International Journal of Research Launched
A new journal, ‘SAHYADRI International Journal of Research has been launched. The journal is now online at www.sijr.in . The e-mail address of this journal is [email protected]. Efforts are on to obtain an ISSN number for the online and as well as the print version. This is an important milestone in the history of Sahyadri as very few institutions have their own international journals.
Tally Solutions Recruitment Drive
Tally Solutions conducted the recruitment drive for engineering students as part of their 2016 batch requirement. Ms. Prathima Devi S, Senior Manager-HR, was at the campus to facilitate the entire process.
Tomorrow at Sahyadri 
• A job & skill training camp will be held under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY), a Govt. of India, Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship in association with Rooman Technologies, the training partner for the National Skill Development Corporation at Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management, the venue partner, on Saturday, the 27th of February, 2016 from 9:30 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Hiring executives from seventy companies from IT, ITES, Retail, Banking, Telecom, Healthcare and Consulting sectors will converge at the campus. SSLC, Pre-University, graduate, postgraduate candidates aspiring for a job and skill training will get a chance to be placed with one of these companies. Around 3000 candidates are expected to attend the camp.
Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY); a unique initiative by the Government of India aims to offer 24 lakh Indian youth, meaningful, industry- relevant, skill-based training. Under this scheme, the trainees will be offered a financial reward and a government certification on successful completion of training and assessment, which will help them in securing a job for a better future.
The chief guests for the inaugural and valedictory function are Sri Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Sri Nalinkumar Kateel, Member of Parliament, D.K. Dist., Capt. Ganesh Karnik, Hon’ble Opposition Party Chief Whip, Karnataka Legislative Council among other dignitaries from government and Sri Manish Kumar, CEO, Rooman Technologies Pvt. Ltd., Bengaluru, Training Partner, Dr. Sandhya Chintala, CEO, IT/ITES Sector Skill Council and Sri N K Mohapatra, CEO, ESSCI from the industry.
We are honoured to have Shri Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Union Minister of State Skill Development and Entrepreneurship & Parliamentary Affairs, Government of India.
He is a well-known politician in current politics. In his earlier tenure, he worked as the Minister of State for Commerce and Industry and subsequently was elevated as the Civil Aviation Minister.
He is credited as the only parliamentarian in the globe operating Airbus-320 Jets, flying with one of the largest private airlines in India as a Senior First Officer and also figures in the Limca Book of World Records. Recently, he is credited with flying a Sukhoi 30-MKI, a fighter aircraft in the Indian Air force.
Professionally, he is an academician, a teacher of economics and also has had a stint as a Legal Counsel, apart from a deep association with the field of aviation. His tenure in civil aviation had witnessed comprehensive aviation reforms in India in a big way and its footprints can be observed even today. He has completed his schooling from Patna and subsequently graduated in law from Punjab University, Chandigarh.
Shri. Rajiv Pratap Rudy will be the chief guest for the valedictory function of the Job & Skill Training Camp. He is great orator and his talks are highly inspiring. All staff, faculty and students are to be present for his valedictory address between 5:00 pm-6.00 pm in the bus shelter. A unique opportunity of interacting with the industry personnel from 9 am to 5 pm, has been presented to us, capitalize on the opportunity.
• Unveiling of the SAE Aerodesign Plane built by Team HAWK by the Chief Guest Shri Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Former Civil Aviation Minister and currently the Union Minister of State Skill Development and Entrepreneurship & Parliamentary Affairs, Government of India and Mr R S Hiremath, CEO of Flexitron at 6:30 P.M. in the campus. This will be followed by night flying by Mangalore Flying Club and a cultural programme.
