Dr. Meena Kumari, an IT consultant visits Sahyadri

Dr.-Meena-Kumari,-an-IT-consultant-visits-Sahyadri Dr. Meena Kumari, an IT consultant visited Sahyadri campus and interacted with the Chairman, Mr. Manjunath Bhandary, Principal and Administrator. She had an interactive session with the students of Sahyadri and also had a detailed discussion with the Sahyadri E-Cell.

Dr. Meena Kumari has got her MCA degree from Pune University and PhD from Punjab University in Artificial Intelligence, she has worked at TTTI (Technical Teacher Training Institute) Chandigarh as Software Development Head. She has worked as a Chief Technical Officer for Aptech for more than seven years, presently working as an IT consultant to companies in America and Malaysia. She has stated a science school for International curriculums to train students towards competitive exams such as Science and Mathematical Olympiads. She was instrumental in putting up Science conclave at IIIT- Allahabad.

Twenty two Sahyadrians recruited by DigiCall Teleservices

Twenty two Sahyadrians recruited by DigiCall Teleservices DigiCall Teleservices visited Sahyadri to conduct the pooled campus recruitment drive for the engineering students of 2017 batch. Twenty two of our students have been recruited by the company. Mr. Amit Aswal, Lead-Talent Acquisition, DigiCall Teleservices was at the campus to facilitate the entire recruitment process.

Solvers India pooled campus recruitment drive

Solvers-India-pooled-campus-recruitment-drive Solvers India conducted the pooled campus recruitment drive for the 2017 batch engineering students. Mr. Watson, Talent acquisition, Solvers India accompanied by panelists on the recruitment team were at the campus to facilitate the entire recruitment process. 471 students from the pool colleges were part of the event. Results are awaited.

Ms. Shikha Rai A has joined the Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering as an Assistant Professor. She has completed her B.E in Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management & M.Tech in St. Joseph Engineering College. Her area of specialization is Digital Electronics.


Two-Day Workshop on “Classroom to Boardroom" for M.Tech Civil Engineering

Two-Day-Workshop-on-“Classroom-to-Boardroom-for-M.Tech-Civil-Engineering Day One of the workshop started with the Inaugural Ceremony and Dr. Vishal Samartha, Director, Department of Business Administration was the chief guest. In her inaugural address, she stressed on how one should make the best use of the opportunities and resources available to emerge successful in all the endeavors. She also highlighted the importance of inculcating optimistic attitude throughout one’s career in order to pave a path leading to success. She also congratulated the Civil Engineering Department for organizing the workshop so as to enhance the entrepreneurial skills of postgraduate students. Mr. Pramod Mishra, Chief Safety Officer, MRPL was the Guest of Honour & Dr. Umesh M Bhushi, Principal presided over the function. Prof. Umesh S S, HoD (PG), Department of Civil Engineering briefed about the workshop highlights to the gathering.

This was followed by a session on 'Safety in Construction' by Mr. Pramod Mishra, Chief Safety Officer, MRPL. In this session the students were briefed about the importance of safety norms that has to be strictly followed in a construction process. He also stressed on the importance of safety management in the efficient execution of a construction project.

The second session was on 'Entrepreneurial Skills' which was delivered by Dr. Umesh M Bhushi, Principal. In this session, gists of entrepreneurial aspects were highlighted. Students were also briefed on how one should trigger their entrepreneurial traits and emerge successful.

The third session was on 'Financial Support Schemes' which was delivered by Mr. Reese Mathews, Chief Manager and Mr. Ravi Kumar, Manager, Canara Bank, Mangaluru. This session dealt with the various financial support schemes rendered by the financial institutions to the entrepreneurs aiding their startups.

The fourth session was on 'Opportunities for Consultancy Services' by Dr. Premanand Shenoy, Department of Civil Engineering.

Sahyadri Whiz Quiz 2017 carried out at Government First Grade Women’s College, Balmatta

Sahyadri-Whiz-Quiz-2017-carried-out-at-Government-First-Grade-Women’s-College,-Balmatta One hundred & forty final year students pursuing B.Com & BBM at Government First Grade Women’s College, Balmatta had registered for Sahyadri Whiz Quiz 2017. Dr. Rashmi Kodikal & Dr. Lokesh along with eight student volunteers of the MBA Department administered the Written Quiz Round & the College Level Quiz Round as Quiz Masters, Time Keepers and Score Keepers. 16 teams were shortlisted post the Written Quiz and finally 8 teams emerged as winners and have been invited to participate in the “The Grand Finale - Sahyadri Whiz Quiz 2017” on March 10th’17 in Sahyadri Campus. Prof. Bindu, coordinator, Government First Grade Women’s College, Balmatta distributed certificates to the winning teams.
