IoT Challenge 2019 at Sahyadri IoT Challenge 2019 at Sahyadri IOT Challenge 2019 organized by Dept. of Information Science and Engineering was inaugurated by the Chief Guest - Mr. Ameer, Embedded Trainer, i3indya Technologies in the presence of the Principal - Dr. R Srinivasa Rao Kunte. During the Day One, Mr. Ameer held an interaction session with faculty on IOT (Internet of Things). Later, a Workshop on IoT was held which had 110 participants from 10 different colleges comprising of 30 teams. The workshop was facilitated by Mr. Ameer along with Mr. Sudhanshu who is also a Trainer.

CSE Faculty authors an E-Book named “Cyber Safe Girl”

“Cyber Safe Girl” is an e-book comprising of 15 info-toons about how girls can stay safe online and also includes tips to help them secure their devices. The book is authored by Dr. Ananth Prabhu G, Professor, Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering and co-authored by Mr. Vivek Shetty.

The book has been developed with the support from Mangalore Police Team under the guidance of Hanumantharaya DCP and mentoring by Sri Sanjay Sahay, IPS and Dr. Murugan IPS. It has been recognized by CDAC, ISEA & will be distributed in all CBSE schools throughout the country by translating into all the regional languages. The intention of this book is to empower girls so that they can understand the risks of being online and avoid getting trapped.

MBA Faculty takes Oath as the Founder President of JCI Mangalore Disha MBA Faculty takes Oath as the Founder President of JCI Mangalore Disha Prof. Sushma V from the Dept. of Business Administration-MBA took oath as the Founder President of Junior Chamber International (JCI) Mangalore Disha during the Installation Ceremony of the Local Organization Member (LOM) in the presence of JCI Sen. Arpit Hathi, the National President.

JCI India is a voluntary organization, membership based NGO working in India for developing the leadership skills of young men and women of this country. Sushma, now leads a team of 20 (Women Only) comprising of women entrepreneurs, teachers, corporate employees, students and home-makers.

Recently, Sahyadri students and staff took an oath on the occasion of JCI Integrity Day since Honesty and Integrity are the foundations of leadership. Apart from this, there are events and programmes lined up to be organized in collaboration with JCI for the student development.

Final Year Engineering Students Pledge to donate all their organs

Mr. Karthik S Rai and Ms. Ashwitha Jathan from Final year Computer Science and Engineering have taken a pledge to donate all their organs. They have registered themselves as donors in the National Organ Transplant Portal under the guidance of Mr. Ankith S Kumar, Student Counsellor at the Health & Counselling Centre.

Prof. J V Gorabal is currently working as Head-Department of Computer Science and Engineering. Earlier, he worked as the HoD of CSE at RLJIT Doddaballapura. He also worked as a lecturer in Department of Computer Applications at Basaveshwar Engineering College Bagalkot. He obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Karnataka University, Dharwad and Master of Technology in Computer Science and Engineering from VTU, Belagavi. He completed his PhD from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Anantapura (AP) in the field of Computer Science and Engineering. He is an academician with 21 years of teaching experience. He is active in professional bodies like Computer Society of India and Indian Society for Technical Education. His fields of interest are Image processing & Biometric security. He is associated with Sahyadri since 2011. He is passionate about teaching and mentors students to fulfill their dreams and create a better society.

• Ms. Sanha Kamarunnisa is from Mangaluru. She pursued her SSLC from Cambridge School and PUC from Mahesh PU College, Mangaluru. Her hobbies are Reading books and Baking. She aspires to become an Entrepreneur.
• Mr. Lakshmeesha P Kotian is from Mangaluru. He pursued his SSLC from Chinamaya High School and PUC from Sharada P U College, Mangaluru. His hobbies are Driving and Photography. He aspires to become an Entrepreneur.
• Ms. B Navyashree K Kottari is from Mangaluru. She pursued her SSLC from St. Anns High School and PUC from St. Aloysius P U College, Mangaluru. Her hobbies are Sketching and playing volleyball. She aspires to work for a reputed IT company.
• Ms. Ankitha Kini is from Kundapur. She pursued her SSLC from Sri Venkatramana High School and PUC from Sri Venkatramana Pre-university Kundapur. Her hobbies are Reading Novels & Playing Badminton. She aspires to work for an MNC.
• Ms. E K Shruthi is from Mangaluru. She pursued her SSLC from Canara Girls High School and PUC from Expert PU College, Mangaluru. Her hobbies are Painting, listening to music and Reading. She aspires to work for a reputed IT company.
• Mr. Aakash Dayakar Suvarna is from Mangaluru. He pursued his SSLC from S.M.E.M.S School and PUC from Sharada P U College, Mangaluru. His hobbies are playing badminton and chess. He aspires to become a Pilot.
• Ms. Shriraksha R Shetty is from Kundapur. She pursued her SSLC from G M Vidyanikethan school and PUC from Excellent P U College, Kundapur. Her hobbies are playing football and Reading Novels. She aspires to work as a Cyber Security Specialist.

SCOPE T&M Private Limited is visiting Sahyadri on the 25th of February 2019, to conduct a campus recruitment drive for the Electronics & Communication Engineering students of 2019 outgoing batch. They are hiring for the position of "Graduate Engineer Trainee (GET)".
