Chairman meets Spiritual Guide Brahmakumari Shivani at the Ashram in Mangaluru

Mr. Manjunath Bhandary, Chairman, accompanied by spouse Mrs Prasanna Bhandary met Brahmakumari Shivani at the Ashram in Mangaluru on 8th Feb’2020.  She was in the city to deliver a Talk on the topic “Health, Happiness and Harmony”, organized by the Prajapita Brahmakumari Ishwariya Vishvavidayala, at TMA Pai Convention Hall, on 9th February 2020.
Brahmakumari Shivani or B K Shivani Verma is a Brahma Kumari’s Teacher at the Brahma Kumari’s World Spiritual University. She conducts motivational courses through public seminars and television programs.
Having met Brahmakumari Shivani, along with his spouse, Mr. Manjunath Bhandary, who has achieved many milestones in the field of imparting education and knowledge, now feels better equipped to serve and give more to the society.

A One-Day Mega Naturopathy & Yoga Health Check-up & Awareness Camp “Nisargopchar Mahotsav” was held at Sahyadri

A one-day mega Naturopathy & Yoga Health Check-up & Awareness Camp “Nisargopchar Mahotsav” was held at Sahyadri, on 9th Feb’2020. The event was organized by Sri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara College & Hospital of Naturopathy and Yogic Science, Ujire and sponsored by National Institute of Naturopathy, Pune, Ministry of AYUSH, Govt of India.
Padmashree Dr B M Hegde, Former Vice-Chancellor, Manipal University, inaugurated the programme. Several dignataries viz. Dr Rajeshwari Devi, District Medical Officer, DK District; Dr Iqbal, District Ayush Officer, DK and Mr Devadas Hegde, Trustee, Bhandary Foundation and Mr. B B Shanbhog, Chartered Accountant, attended the function.  Dr Wolfgang Schollhorn, Professor, Johannes Guterburg University, Germany was a special invitee.

The event began with the general Yogasana session for the general public. A variety of consultations and therapies like Yoga, Naturopathy, Acupuncture, Massage, Water Therapy, Steam Therapy etc. were conducted.
Apart from the special Yoga programmes offered by Yoga experts, counselling by experts, treatment and advice from experienced Yoga and Naturopathy doctors were offered to the participants.

The Area F3 Speech Contest 2020 under Toastmasters International was held

The Area F3 Speech Contest 2020 under Toastmasters International was held on 9th Feb’2020 in the Campus. Various clubs under Area F3 including the Sahyadri Toastmasters Club competed in three main contests - The International Speech Contest, The Evaluation Contest and The Tall Takes Contest.
TM Hiba, the President of the Sahyadri Toastmasters Club, bagged the 3rd position in the International Speech Contest. TM Shyam Kumar and TM Shraddha Shetty were also participants in the various contests. This contest was part of a series of contests leading up to the final international contest to be held in the US. The next leg of the same is the Division Level Contest which is to be held in March’2020.
Toastmasters International (TI) is a US headquartered nonprofit educational organization that operates clubs worldwide for the purpose of promoting communication, and public speaking and leadership skills. The members meet every Thursday in the Campus.  There are no membership restrictions and is ever ready to welcome anybody interested to take up Toastmasters journey.
Sahyadri Toastmasters Club has been in motion since 2018 and there's been no turning back since then.

First Year Engineering Students attend Three-Day Camp at World Konkani Centre, Mangaluru

First Year Engineering Students attended a Scholars Orientation and Training Programme (SOTP) Camp, one of the best camps in the country, held at World Konkani Centre, Mangaluru, during 7th to 9th Feb'2020. This camp focused primarily on Self Development, Communication Skills and Leadership Ability. It also included a Webinar with the students pursuing their Masters’ in the United States of America.
The students were at the peak with full dedication and excitement during the three-day event. It also helped in building connectivity among most of the students from different parts of the country. There were around 71 scholars across India at the camp.
Mr. Vineet Nayak S, Second Year Computer Science and Engineering Student, who is also a Vishwa Konkani Scholar from 2018 Batch, was invited to interact with the students and to deliver a talk to the students on two important productivity hack techniques i.e. Pomodoro Technique and Bullet Journaling.

Campus Recruitment Drive- Wipro

Wipro conducted Phase 2 Elite Engineering interviews for the shortlisted candidates on 8th Feb’2020.  A team of 29 panelists from Wipro were at the campus to facilitate the process.
Around 175 Candidates from various colleges in Mangaluru participated in the Technical and HR interview rounds.  The results are awaited. 

SilverPeak Global (SPG) Japan, Interaction Session

SilverPeak Global, (SPG) visited Sahyadri on 10th Feb’2020 for a formal inauguration of the Japanese Language Program & Introduction to the Japanese Culture for the selected students for the first time at Sahyadri. The Team interacted with the selected students along with their parents and spoke about the opportunities in Japan.
The session provided a clear understanding of the program, the Japanese culture, internship and job opportunities that would be offered to the students.  Dr. R. Srinivasa Rao Kunte, Principal was a part of the session and he encouraged the students to grab the opportunity and make the best use of it.

Introduction of the Mentor: Prof. Gurusiddayya Hiremath has 10 years of experience which includes both teaching and industry. Currently he is pursuing his PhD from VTU, Belgavi. His research area includes Image Processing, Machine Learning, Embedded system design.

• Athmik Kumar Shetty B pursued his schooling from Chethana Vidya Mandira, Tumkur and PUC from RNS PU College, Kundapura. He is interested in cricket and football.  He focuses on his commitment to achieve in Electronics and Communication Engineering.
• Akash N V is from Kodagu.  He pursued his schooling from S.H.E.M.S., Sanivarsanthe and PUC from SDM PU College, Ujire. His hobbies are listening to music and riding. He has participated in Inter-School Kabaddi, Football and hockey tournaments. His goal is to work in a reputed Electronics Engineering company.
• Chaithali R Shetty is from Mani. She pursued her schooling from Balavikas English Medium School, Mani and PUC from Ambika Padavipoorva Vidyalaya, Puttur. Her hobbies include reading novels and listening to music. She aspires to become a good engineer and work for a company like Amazon.
• Aditi Talekar is from Karwar.  She pursued her schooling from Amrita Vidyalayam and PUC from St Joseph PU College, Karwar. She aspires to become a successful Electronics Engineer.
• Manasa Bhat is from Mangaluru. She pursued her schooling from Mount Carmel Central School and PUC from Vikas PU College, Mangaluru. Her hobbies include reading novels and story books. She aspires to become a good Electronics Engineer.
• Dashvanth Gowda is from Shivamoga.  He pursued his schooling from Sahyadri School and PUC from S R Pre-University College, Hebri. His hobbies are reading and listening to music.  He aspires to become an Entrepreneur.
