Sahyadrians attend Karnataka Tech Entrepreneurs Summit (KTES-2020) at Jawaharlal Nehru National College of Engineering, Shimoga

Abdul Shameer & Shanker R Kumar of Mechanical Engineering and Srujan U of Computer Science & Engineering attend the Karnataka Tech Entrepreneurs Summit (KTES-2020) held at Jawaharlal Nehru National College of Engineering, Shimoga during 13th to 15th Feb’2020. The students have been registered for participation in workshops and panel discussions along with several entrepreneurs and professionals.

The event started with the inaugural ceremony by Dr. C N Ashwatha Narayan, Deputy Chief Minister, Govt. of Karnataka. Mr. Samir Kumar, Managing Director, Inventus India was the Guest of Honour.

The Karnataka Tech Entrepreneurs Summit aims to embed the culture of entrepreneurship in young minds. It is a 3-Days event of various sessions delivered by entrepreneurs with expertise on the topics.

Campus Recruitment Drive

Amazon India
Amazon India conducted a Pool Campus Recruitment Drive on 13th Feb’2020 for all branches of Engineering from 2020 outgoing batch. Mr. Murali Manoj R, Recruiter was at the campus to facilitate the Recruitment process. A total of 274 students from pool colleges participated in the drive. The final results are awaited.


Adani Energy Businesses
Adani Energy Businesses conducted a Campus Recruitment Drive on 13th Feb’2020 for the Mechanical and Civil Engineering students of 2020 outgoing batch. A total of 374 students from the pool colleges participated in the Recruitment process and the results are awaited.

Introduction of the Mentor:
Prof. Prasad Chandran N obtained His Diploma in Automobile Engineering from KVG Poly Technic Sullia, Bachelor of Engineering and Master of Technology from Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management Mangaluru. He is presently pursuing his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from VTU, Belagavi. His Area of Research includes Eco-friendly Moulding Material for Foundry, Hybrid Composites, IC Engines, and Automotive Mechanics etc.

Prof. Prasad Chandran has been into teaching from last 8 years, handling subjects for both UG as well as PG courses such as Mechanics of Materials, Computer Aided Machine Drawing, Fluid Power systems, Tribology, Fluid Mechanics, Automotive engineering, Machine Tools & Operations and Experimental Stress Analysis. He is an active member of SAE Collegiate Club. He is currently the Chief Warden of Sahyadri Hostel.

Introduction of the Mentees:
• Rohith Chowta pursued his schooling from Sharada Vidyaniketan Public School and PUC from Sharada PU College, Mangaluru. He is interested in cricket and travelling. His hobbies are reading books & newspapers. His aspiration in life is to become a Design Engineer.

• Abhishek pursued his schooling and PUC from Presidency School, Mangaluru. He is interested in drawing. His hobbies are listening to music and handcrafting. His aspiration in life is to become a Design Engineer

• Pranav S P pursued his schooling from Canara High School Main and PUC from Bosscoss College, Mangaluru. He is interested in Chess and cricket. His hobbies are reading newspapers and novels. His aspiration in life is to become a sailor in the marine field.

• Prakyatha C A pursued his schooling from KVSMHS and PUC from GHSS, Kasaragod. He is interested in sports. His hobbies are watching movies and his aspiration in life is to become a Design Engineer.
