Chairman attends Eisenhower Fellowships Global Conference – “The Future of Education” at Colombia, USA

Eisenhower Fellowships convened thought leaders from around the world for the Global Conference – “The Future of Education” at Cartagena, Colombia, USA, during 13th to 16th Feb’2020 to explore the Future of Education, a critical issue affecting every corner of the planet. Mr. Manjunath Bhandary, Chairman-Bhandary Foundation attended the conference where he met the Mayor of Cartagena – Mr. William Jorge Dau Chamat. He also had the honour to interact with the First Lady of Colombia – Mrs. H E Maria Juliana Ruiz Sandoval, the wife of Colombian President Ivan Duque who shared the Opening remarks during the conference.
What knowledge, skills, attitudes and values will today’s a student need to thrive and shape the world? How can technology and innovation improve educational opportunities for underserved populations? What lessons can we learn from places with promising innovative approaches to learning? How do we align our educational systems with future workforce needs and create widespread access to continuous learning that future workers will require to adapt to rapid change? These are among the questions that were addressed in big-picture plenary panel discussions and short, tightly focused talks by thought leaders. 

This three-day global conference saw participation from educational thinkers, high-tech innovators, business leaders, government officials and other prominent experts. Prof. Dr. Uday Salunkhe, Group Director, Wellingkar Education was also one among the participants of the Global Conference.

GSB Premier League (GPL) – 2020 held at Sahyadri Riverside Ground

A 3-Day “Puzzolana GPL 2020 Utsav” organized by the Kodial Sports Association is held during 14th to 16th Feb’2020, at the Sahyadri Riverside Ground. As a part of the mega GPL 2020 Utsav, the ‘GPL 2020’ Cricket Tournament is organised, wherein 16 teams from in and around Karnataka are participating. The inauguration function was held on 14th Feb’2020.

The event was inaugurated by Mr. Nalin Kumar Kateel, MP. Mr. D. Vedavyas Kamath, MLA-Mangaluru South, who is also the President of Sevanjali Charitable Trust, delivered the Welcome speech.

The other dignitaries who graced the event with their presence are Mr. Raghavendra Kamath, Natural Ice Cream; Mr. Manohar Kamath, Hotelier, Mumbai; Mr. Sathish Nayak, Hotelier, Mumbai; Ms. Priya Nagendra Pai: Gulf Oil, Mumbai, Puttur Narasimha Nayak, Singer; Mr. Varadharaj Pai, Shamans Industries; Mr. Rajesh Kini; Mr. Dheeraj Bhandary, School Book Company, Mangaluru and Mr. Raghavendra Kudva, Engineer.

Blood Donation camp organized on the occasion of GPL Utsav-2020

Sevanjali Charitable Trust in association with KMC Hospital and Sahyadri NSS and Red Cross Unit organized a blood donation camp on the occasion of GPL Utsav 2020 in the campus. The camp was inaugurated by Dr R Srinivasa Rao Kunte, Principal.

Mr Hanumanth Kamath and Mr Varadhraj Shenoy, members of Sevanjali Charitable Trust and Dr Deepa Adiga, Blood Bank Officer, KMC Hospital, were a part of the Blood Donation Camp.

Mr Devadas Hegde, Trustee, Bhandary Foundation, all Deans and HoDs participated in the camp. The Faculty, students and administrative staff too actively participated in large numbers in the camp.

Campus Recruitment Drive

• Ribbon Communications
Ribbon Communications conducted a Pool Campus Recruitment Drive on 14th Feb' 2020 for the Computer Science, Information Science and Electronics & Communication Engineering students from 2020 outgoing batch. A team of 15 members from Ribbon Communications were at the campus to facilitate the process. Around 150 students participated in the drive and the results are awaited.

• A1 Fence Products Company Pvt Ltd

A1 Fence Products Company Pvt Ltd. conducted an online Assessment as a part of the Recruitment Drive for Mechanical and Electronics & Communication Engineering students from 2020 outgoing batch. A total of 50 students took up the test and the results are yet to be declared.

• Afariz is from Mangaluru. He pursued his schooling from Bharathi English Medium School and PUC from Govinda dasa PU College, Mangaluru. His hobbies are music and sports like Cricket and Football. His aspiration is to work for a reputed company in the field of electronics.

• Nandan Prabhu is from Puttur. He pursued his schooling from Balavikas English Medium School and PUC from Vivekananda PU College, Puttur. His hobbies are coin collection and sports specially Pole Vault. His aspiration is to join Air Force and work in the field of electronics and communication.
