Chairman along with the Tourism Minister inaugurates GSB Premier League (GPL) at Sahyadri Riverside Cricket Ground

A Three-Day “GPL 2021 Utsav” is organized by the Kodial Sports Association during 26th to 28th Feb’2021, at the Sahyadri Riverside Cricket Ground. As a part of the utsav, the ‘GPL 2021’ Cricket Tournament is organized which saw a participation of 12 teams. The inauguration function was held on 26th Feb’2021.
The event was inaugurated by Mr. Manjunath Bhandary, Chairman-Bhandary Foundation; Mr. C P Yogeeshwara Rao, Minister of Tourism, Minister of Environment & Ecology Department, Govt. of Karnataka and also Mr. Vedavyas Kamath, MLA, Mangaluru City South, who is also the Trustee of Kodial Sports Association.

With the growing need for Teaching & Research experience to go hand in hand, in order to achieve good ranking in NIRF and other prestigious standards, Prof. K Byrappa, Pro Vice-Chancellor or Adichunchanagiri University addressed the Faculty members and Research Scholars on “Importance of Research in Career Building”.

In his concluding remarks, Prof. K Byrappa invited Sahyadri Team to collaborate with ACU for research activities and extended support to mentor Sahyadri in all aspects related to Research.
Prof. K Byrappa was then felicitated by Mr. Manjunath Bhandary, Chairman; Dr. Rajesha S, Principal and Prof. Balakrishna S S, Vice-Principal, for his contribution to Education and Research.
Prof. K Byrappa was an Ex-Vice Chancellor of Mangalore University. He obtained his Master’s degree from the University of Mysore with Distinction, Rank and Medals, and Ph.D. and Post-Doc both from Moscow State University, Russia. He has been now recognized as one of the Top 2% Scientists in Materials Science as per the Study report of Stanford University, USA.

First Year Engineering students attend a One-Day Symposium at Krishi Vigyana Kendra

A One-Day Symposium on “Application of solar-powered implements for Agriculture field” was organized by Bharatiya Vikas Trust, Manipal and Krishi Vigyana Kendra, Mangaluru on 25th Feb’2021 which took place at Krishi Vigyana Kendra Mangaluru. The agenda of the symposium was to understand and come up with solutions to the loss of crop production from rodents and animals by implementing solar energy-based technology. The symposium included framers, scientists from KVK, Experts from Selco Foundation, and students from ITI and Engineering Colleges. Mr. Gautham Nayak, Program Head, APEX Center for Social Innovation was invited as the inaugurator of the symposium. He addressed the gathering on various initiatives taken up by Sahyadri towards solving societal problems.
Other guests included Mr. Naveen Kumar, Principal, BA ITI, Thumbe, and Dr. T.J. Ramesh, Senior Scientist & Head of KVK Mangaluru. Selco Foundation demonstrated various livelihood solutions like solar-powered blower, pottery machine, and rice huller. As a part of the Social Innovation Program, first-year students Sohan Rai, Sriram V, Ashwija A Rao, Rachana Shenoy, Raksha, Saavan, and Dhyan Rai took part in the discussion to understand the problem and find a desirable, feasible, and viable technological solution.

ECE Student achieves at the South Zone National Junior Athletics Championship in Kerala

Prajwal M Shetty, a student of Second Year Electronics & Communication Engineering has won Gold Medal in Shot Put in the 32nd South Zone National Junior Athletics Championship 2021 held at C.H. Mohammed Koya Stadium, Calicut in Kerala.
