Republic Day Celebrated
 The 65th anniversary of the Republic Day was celebrated in the Campus with the hoisting of the national flag. Mrs. Irene Veigas, Principal, Sahyadri Nursing College and the Guest of Honour, hoisted the national flag followed by the national anthem. In her address on the occasion she gave a glimpse of how the constitution was framed and how India became a Republic nation after its freedom from the British rule. Mrs. Irene Veigas, recalled the sacrifices made by all the freedom fighters and our ancestors who fought for freedom. She stressed the need for humanity in our day-to-day transactions and that our strength lay in unity of one and all towards taking our country to greater heights. The formal function came to an end with the recitation of Bankim Chandra’s, “Vande Mataram.”
 The Republic Day celebration was followed by Staff Sports Day with exciting individual games and team events. A host of winners were felicitated by Dr. Mohandas Bhat S., Dean-Academics and Prof. Mahesh N. Nayak, Administrator, at the Valedictory function.

Sandhya P. with 86.89% has topped the Sahyadri College in the Civil Engineering, Semester VII Examination of 2013-14 held by VTU. Sampada Mahadev Gangavali obtained the second position in the college with 83.67% while Prathap P. Karkera with 79.33% stands third. Sixty - seven students sat for the examination of which twenty-five have obtained a first class with distinction, twenty-nine students have obtained a first class while five students obtained a second class, bringing the overall percentage score of the department to 88.1%.
