In the Chemistry cycle, Deelan Felix Concessao with 86.97% has topped the Sahyadri College in the Semester I, B. E. Examination of 2014-15 held by VTU, followed by Deeksha G. Shetty with 85.29% while Aboobaker Siddiq and Jayalaxmi with 85.16% stand third.

Physics Cycle
In the Physics cycle, Pavithree B. Shetty tops the list with 88.90% followed by Swarna Sagarika Bhat with 85.42% while K. B. Hemaraj and Vaishnavi with 85.03% occupy the third position.

One hundred and eighty-seven students secured a first class with distinction, two hundred and three secured a first class and seventy-seven students secured a second class. Congratulations to all the students who have kept the Sahyadri flag flying high with academic excellence.

Upcoming EventThe Department of Computer Science & Engineering has organized a two-day workshop on `Cloud Computing’ for the benefit of faculty members and M.Tech. students on Friday, the 16th of January and Saturday, the 17th of January, 2015. The inaugural session will be held on Friday, the 16th of January, 2015 at 09:00 A.M. in the Seminar Hall, ground floor. Mr. Sandeep Singh, Technical Associate, Android App and Cloud Computing Developer, Technophilia Systems, will be the Chief Guest. Dr. U. M. Bhushi, Principal, will preside over the function.
Tomorrow at Sahyadri A ten-day Finishing School Training Programme for students of Civil Engineering on Building Construction, Supervision and Management which will be inaugurated by the chief guest, Dr. K. E. Prakash and resource persons from industry and institutions on Thursday, the 15th of January at 9.00 A.M. in the Campus.
This event is supported by Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum in association with Association of Consulting Civil Engineers (|), Indian concrete Institute, Karnataka, Mangalore Centre and Government Research Center, Sahyadri.
The main objective of the Finishing School is to upgrade the fresh engineering graduates as per industry requirements and help them to get better job opportunities. This will indirectly helps industries as they can put the new recruits on the job without much training.
