Shruthi H. Gangal with 83.89% has topped the Sahyadri College in the Electronics & Communication Engineering, Semester VII Examination of 2014-15 held by VTU. Chandana Rao obtained the second position in the College with 80.11% while Sharan R. with 77.44% stands third. One hundred and thirty students too the examination of which nineteen obtained a first class with distinction, fifty-five students obtained a first class while ninety-eight students obtained a second class, bringing the overall percentage score of the department to 75.38%.

Civil Engineers in the Making: Finishing School Programme
The ten-day Finishing School Programme for Civil Engineers on `Building Construction, Supervision and Management’ saw the participants eagerly absorbing and enhancing their skills through a presentation on “Communication Skills for Civil Engineers” by Er. Premananda Shenoy, Chief Consultant & Managing Partner at Roy & Shenoy, followed by a talk on “Computer Applications in the Civil Engineering Field” by Mr. Anil Hedge, Structural Consultant, Vimal Anil Civil & Structural Engineers.
 Post-lunch,
Er. K. B. Keerthan Kumar, Professor Manager (Marketing/ Technical), MCF, spoke on “Good Construction Practices & Non Destructive Testing for Buildings” followed with another session on “Project Management” by Dr. Gangadhar Mahesh, Assistant Professor, NITK-S.
